We made a special journey from Copenhagen to see this museum and found it disappointing. The layout of the museum is difficult to follow. There are massive amounts of information about Hans Christian Andersen but it is not displayed in a very user-friendly way. Most...More

A little difficult to find through the nearby construction works but very glad we allowed some time here. An extraordinary and well curated collection of material on HC Anderson. An insightful glimpse into life at that time and primary material regarding HC. What an interesting...More

We all know Hans Christian Anderson's wonderful Fairy Tales. And this museum shows the background of the person who wrote them, against the time he lived in. For a younger public, it might be better not to show this much information in such a dense,...More

Very nice museum, providing printed guides in different languages. They are also organizing events for kids, but they are usually in Danish. It is worth to visit it, while in Odense!

We all know Hans Christian Andersen, but we don't really know him. Loved this museum with all the information about the man and his life. Well worth the visit.

Lovely museum situated right at re childhood home of HC Anderson. Really a nice place to visit while in Denmark. Special memory for the trip was that we saw people (both young and old) performing (or rehearsing) for HC Anderson's famous fairytales beside the museum....More

This museum is great. Personally I couldn't give two hoots about HC Andersen but the museum is a great find in Odense. It shows how odd and how tortured HCA was.
