We arrived just 20-25 minutes before closing time, so it was a quick walk-through. The original house of the great storyteller is incorporated in a fairly large museum, dedicated to the period from where his works originated. You are presented to his childhood and youth as well as his later career, his friendships (and love affairs) and his travel in... More

A very interesting visit to a well laid out museum showing great detail of how Hans Christian Andersen lived and worked. It includes a huge number of original manuscripts and illustrations as well as a vast library of translated books from around the world. The museum staff should get special mention as we arrived 20 minutes before closing time as... More

We felt quite disappointed on our visit to this museum. While the museum does provide a good information on HC andersen we think it disappoints on the good presentation which is full of information that is needed to be self-read and understand. The presentation looks a bit boring and is put too tight side by side on the story. And... More

We would be very disappointed if the entrance wpuld not be the part of Copenhagen card. The museum is very tiny and very few interesting expositions. I would likes some more facts from Andersen's life as opposed only few exibits of his stories. Would not recommed.

We thought this would be treacly, but it turned out to be really interesting. We learned that there is much more to HCA than just a few children's tales. A very enjoyable and well-spent few hours.

We had a good guide that took us not only to the museum but also to the house where he lived. It was very interesting. We were told that Hans Christian Anderson would tell his tales to the local house wives, and make changes dependent upon their responses.

We learned a whole lot about old Hans...very well presented and it was nice you could also see the home he grew up in. Very interactive...and lots of props...only negative was there was a lot of reading and the type was quite small and positioned far enough away that it was hard to read sometimes...otherwise...all good.

The museum is nice and informative but nothing outstanding. I loved walking around this part of town more. Its magical with all those small houses, They look like museums, but people still live inside!

One only gets to see his actual house. We did not go into his museum but went into the book store which do not have many English book so to buy. The actual house is in a little quaint street.
