Relaxing pace, great sightseeing, biking, very friendly people, history, architecture and food are all part of the charm. Was worried we would find it too laid back but plenty to do and see. We will go back if ever in the area again.

The ferry trip in the smooth and calm waters in the archipelago south og Funen must be one of the most scenic trips in the world. Arriving in Ærøskøbing You find Your self back in the 18th century. The old well maintained timbered houses and cobblestoned streets are a marvelously scenery So too is the countryside. Everywhere You go there... More

This was a quick holiday break taken in Denmark where we live instead of going to a Greek island. It was some 28 years ago we last went to Ærø and the ferry is the only way to get there. We were there for only 3 days this time but the weather was good and the ferry was on time... More

I completely fell in love with this island. What an experience unlike any I have had before. For a first time over sees traveler I was overwhelmed with the beauty and culture of this place. The people are friendly and most speak English so it is easy to get around and communicate. Be sure to spend more than just a... More

After spending four days in Copenhagen, my wife and I drove down to Fyn, and based a three night stay in Svendborg. We included a day trip to Aeroskobing. And we are SO glad we did. The ferry ride was in of itself a great pleasure, 75 minutes including some nice views of Fyn on the way. Very comfortable ferry... More

The island is lovely. Aeroskobing in particular is a picturesque town. Definitely worth spending some time there,

There are so many wonderful reasons to visit Æro, not least the stunning scenery and amazing peace and quiet but the people too. Having married there in 2013 we have returned twice already and for longer each time (we believe that one day we won't even leave!) There are many great eateries from finger food at the Rogeri to fantastic... More

Aeroskobing has many beautiful streets full of gorgeous half timber houses that are so quaintly cute that it was one of the highlights of our visit to Denmark. I was a bit skeptical given that to get to this island you have to take a ferry and invest a fair amount of time. But I was wrong -- this was... More
