Taxi in Volos organizes private full day trips to Meteora , Delphi , Pelion. You can also get Transfer from Volos to Athens Airport, from Volos to Thessaloniki Airport and also from Athens to Volos or from Thessaloniki to Volos. We use Mercedes cars. Meteora day trip (suggested time of arrival:between 08:00-09:00 am) You can visit up to 3 Monasteries. We can stop for lunch.Trip lasts 7-10hours. Your driver is knowledgable enough to tell you a lot of things about Greece-Volos-Meteora during your drive to Meteora.

We pre-booked this taxi company for a journey from Damoucharia to Volos Airport. This is a 2 hour journey along very windy roads from a very remote region of the Pelion. We therefore required a very reliable service (in order to make the flight) and we were not disappointed.
The company was slightly more expensive (€10) than another quote I received but I chose to go with this company for the multiple 5* reviews, and this was the right decision.
I was emailing the taxi company who responded very quickly. I was then given the mobile number of the driver a couple of days beforehand to confirm all arrangements. The taxi driver (Kostas) arrived 20 minutes early (which put us in a great peace of mind given how remote we were) and drove very very carefully around the windy roads.
The payment was all in cash on the day, after the journey, but the price agreed in advance.
I was very impressed with this taxi company, and given the length of trip and petrol prices, thought the price was very reasonable.
Highly recommended!

We have just returned from a week of cruising and the definite highlight was our day with Nikos who took us from Volos to Meteora and more. The Mercedes car was very comfortable and Nikos was such a good driver and most excellent guide who gave us so much information not only about Meteora and district but also about Greece and it’s people and food and more . Meteora was one of the most amazing places we have ever been to and we have travelled extensively . There were lots of photo stops and Nikos stopped at so many fascinating spots . We were thrilled with everything . We had a delicious lunch at a local taverna and then a wonderful drive high in the mountains near Volos to the delightful village of Matrynista. Nikos was so informative about everything and we thoroughly enjoyed his company . We would strongly recommend Taxiinvolos - an absolutely marvellous day from start to finish . We haven’t stopped talking about it ! Thank you, Nikos. Cecily and Philip.

I booked a taxi through this company so that my dad, sister, and i could visit Meteora during our cruise stop in Volos (I highly recommend doing this in the colder months if your cruise stops in Volos; there’s not much to do nearby otherwise). Our driver was Spiro. When we disembarked our ship, he was just a few meters to our left holding a sign with our name. Couldn’t miss him.
Spiro was an excellent driver. We chatted briefly during our drive there and back but for most of the ride we all napped, so it was a quiet drive. Keep in mind this is not a guided tour, so although we did ask a few questions about the monasteries, Spiro was not able to answer all of them (in fact he said he’s never gone inside any himself!). This didn’t bother us in any way. It was about an hour and 40 min drive to the monasteries and the same amount of time back.
At the monasteries, we realized we were out of euros (poor planning on our part). Spiro was kind enough to lend us cash to pay for our entry fees AND to pay for our dinner in Kalabaka after the monasteries. We invited him to join us for dinner and had great conversation. He stopped at an ATM for us on our way back to the port so we could reimburse him and pay for the taxi service.
If you want to be able to see the monasteries at your own pace and not shuffle around with the ship excursion tour group, definitely book this taxi service.

We booked this company during COVID April 2022, while at Port from a cruise. When I contacted them, they immediately answered my questions via email. We had Costa as a driver (brother of Nikos), and felt extremely safe with him. He greeted us at the Pier before security. We were one of the first out and he was the only company holding a sign with our name. Other cruisers that we met on the ship wanted the same tour (Visit Meteora-full day), Costa called a Volos taxi for them, same price that was given to us and their taxi arrived within 10 minutes. They were extremely grateful to book with such a responsible company. Costa custom-made the tour for our needs keeping us updated with the time left and made sure that we were back 30 min before boarding time. As for Meteora? You will see more with Volos taxi than the cruise ship tour and will cost you less than half the price. Very comfortable vehicle. Meteora is a must and with Taxi in Volos is your best choice.

Our day trip with George’s taxi service was one of my favorite of our 10 day trip to Greece! From the moment they picked us up until they dropped us off it was an exceptional day. We had a large party of 13 people so we were split up into three different vehicles all with English-speaking drivers who were extremely knowledgeable about the area we visited especially the monasteries which were the highlight of the day. We stopped at a lovely restaurant for a late lunch in Kalabaka. If you plan to visit Volos I would 100% recommend you book with George’s taxi service, you will not be disappointed!

Our group of 13, family and friends, used George's taxi service on August 10th and I can't say enough about the service and the experience they provided. From the start the communication to get this organized was always very fast and responded quickly.
We're on the Ncl Jade and was there waiting for us right when we got off the ship. All of the drivers provided alot of information about the monasteries and Metoroa. It was just a perfect day couldn't ask for more. And at the end took us to a local restaurant that's was a perfect ending to the day. So thank you so much George's taxi service for the memories.

This is the best way to visit the Meteora monasteries from the cruise port. The communication from the time I booked this throughout the tour was extremely good and the price was very fair. Nikos was there to meet us when we exited the ship and his car was in great condition. His English skills were superb and he told us so much about this area of Greece and what we were visiting. He provided us with cold drinks during the day. We went to a wonderful restaurant for a late lunch after visiting 2 monasteries and stopping for many pictures. An extremely nice man who does an excellent job! Our visit was definitely so much more special than a ship excursion!

Absolutely amazing, from first WhatsApp message with Nikos and subsequent follow up messages, to meet & greet pick up and drop off at port by Costa (Nikos’s brother). Costa was a delight from start to finish, highly knowledgeable, professional, fun and chatty and nothing was too much trouble. Oh, and an excellent driver too.
We had a fabulous trip to Meteora with as many stops for photo opportunities as we wanted along with visiting the monasteries most easily accessible for those with some mobility issues. Lunch at a local taverna, driving to areas off the beaten track and a side trip to Makrinitsa on the way back to the port rounded off a perfect day.

This was probably the best transfer from airport to accommodation I’ve ever had. Within 3 minutes of stepping off the plane we were in the taxi! Our driver had spotted us as quickly as we’d spotted him and led us to his car right outside the airport building. He provided us with water and gave us plenty of tips including where to go and what to eat. He (Nico?) was very helpful and I’d definitely recommend their service. We did find (after having booked Nico) a cheaper taxi firm but I doubt we could have had better service.

We are going to be in Volos On May 13th, 2020 from 9am to 3pm. Is it possible to visit the
monasteries and Mt .Pelion on a taxi tour in that amount of time?

You should check with the owners of Taxi in Volos, they are very experienced and will tell you what is possible. I frankly don't think you can do both if you are going to be in Volos at 9 AM. It takes more than an hour to get to the monasteries. You should see at least 2 monasteries after going all that way - in my opinion.
We did the monasteries in Meteora and Mastriniska in one day but we left the port in Volos at 7 AM and got back to our ship around 4 PM to give you an idea. We saw three monasteries and spent about 45 minutes in Mastriniska.
Hope this helps you out. Enjoy your trip it's gorgeous!

My husband and I will be in Volos on 17-09-2018 only for a few hours. We take the Flying Cat at 13:30 to Glossa. Is there time to get an overview of the city by taxi? If so, what is the cost? Also, if we do not chose to do it on that day, we will be returning through Volos to return to Athens the following week. We are thinking of Monday, 24-09-2018 and leave for Athens the next day. Not sure what time the Flying Cat will be in that day. Sorry for the long email. This is our first trip back to Glossa in 55 years!! Thank you!
