skopelos for our wedding in Sept 2013 (8 Replies)
Hi all, we are travelling to Skopelos on 27th Sept 2013 to get married. We are mature (shall we say :) and didn't want all the fuss of a traditional UK wedding so after doing some extensive research fell in love with this island - I've only been to Greece once and just fell in love with the culture and it's people. I'm in contact with a lovely lady on Skopelos who's registered the wedding at the town hall for 1st Oct before we fly home on 4th Oct. So far there are 20 travelling in our party...More

As Litsa mentioned, Platanos square is THE place for gyros. The bakery in front on the harbour has the best spinach and cheese pies. Be sure to try some of their sweets.... yummy!! What a wonderful island for a wedding.... congrats! Karen

Anyone rented a Ta Peuka room at Agnondas? (4 Replies)
Hi I am hoping to stay in a cheap room this June to organise my wedding, which may be at Agnondas beach. There are cheap rooms called Ta Peuka nr Agnondas beach, has anyone been there? Also why are flights so expensive this year from Manchester?? They are nearly double to the prices last year. Is there anytime were the prices will go down, or should I grab them ASAP? Now im worried they are too expensive for my wedding guests :( Any info would be brilliant, thanks!

You have a choice of 4 airlines and they are all about the same, £250 return . You could always get one way fares from all 4 then mix them and see if it works out cheaper. Thomsons, Thomas Cook, Monarch and Kiss flights.

Skopelos Trip report from first time (but not last time) vis (2 Replies)
We have just returned from a fabulous week at the Villa Malena just outside Glossa. I found the trip reports really useful so I thought I would add my own to the forum. We travelled with Thomas Cook Airways to Skiathos, and had pre-booked the Hydrofoil from Skiathos town to Glossa via the Hellanic Seaways website. It was easy to get a taxi outside the airport, however we were very surprised when the guy organising the taxis insisted that we share the ride with another couple. It was a...More
