If you want to have amazing, stunning and relaxing beach turn back. Forgot about beach from Mamma Mia. The beach is busy and loud. The bar is not on the beach as in the movie but just behind in the big garden. Prices high for the drinks and snack, the same for the sunbeds with umbrella (8 Euro). For me was enough just one hour in high afternoon, there is no shade or just a little bit. If you are without car or motor-bike there is bus service, the stop around 300 meters from the beach. Water was crystal clear, maybe late in the evening of for sunset it can be less busy and enjoyable. Skopelos offers much better and stunning beach then this one.

Lovely beach club. Beds plus umbrella €10 for the day! Food and drinks reasonably priced and waiters work their socks off! Music has a cool vibe, we visited twice, 80s soul one day and reggae the next. Beach isn’t as sandy as advertised and large slabs of rock in the sea make swimming a little difficult.

I find this place lovely!

You may experience sandy beach and grass olive trees.

Mamma Mia beach with it’s turquase very close!

Music is retro and amazing for sunny days.

DJs play both vinyl and electro mix turn tables.

Bar is great and you may experince the best sunset in Skopelos in such an atmosphere!

Enjoy summer!

Go Go Go Kastani Beach!

The setting of this beach is stunning and it is easily clear why it was used in Mamma Mia. A curtain of green surrounds the beach with turquise water. However, it is no longer picturisque due to the very big organised beach bar taking over the bay. If you like this sort of thing then the beach service was very efficient and the sun beds comfortable. It also gets visited by loads of people on boat trips which desend onto the beach for visits. Just not for me.

I couldn't agree more with those commenting on the music. It's a lovely spot, a sweet little bay ringed with wooded hills, a sandy beach, easy to get in and out of the water, not stoney, gets to a decent depth quite quickly. But the bloody music. On all day, but come lunch time, boom, just witless, moronic noise pollution. It would be lovely to swim in the limpid waters, snooze, read your book, listening to the waves lapping, but oh no, we can't have that. It is so, so irksome. I wish I'd brought my noise-cancelling headphones. Also pricey, €8 for sunbed and umbrella.

This is a gem of a beach. Enough public space if you don't want to pay for sun loungers, some shade in the mornings and not too pebbly. But, oh dear, the beach bar pumped out loud, loud, loud music the whole day. The bar itself is set back from the beach so it would be fine if just noisy there but huge speakers made sure all beachgoers were punished ALL DAY, no breaks. Not returning.

Beautiful beach. There was loud music from the bar but once you go nearer the sea it's not that loud. The beach is one of the famous beaches from the 'Mamma Mia' film and is also one of the few sandy beaches if not the only sandy beach in Skopelos and so is extremely popular and crowded. It gets deep quite quickly and so not so good for children who can't swim unless they wear armbands.

Was a nice day until I left crying because the waiters screamed at me for complaining on not getting my salad for an hour…

My boyfriend ordered my salad and told them to deliver it to our sun beds while he went paddling. After maybe 45-60 minutes I still hadn’t gotten my salad so I went over to the bar and asked for it where all the waiters were rude and complained on me for not getting it before, and I said it was going to be delivered to my bed and they said well we don’t know where you bed is (even though my boyfriend told them the number). I just said well then you have to look for it, 40 minutes is a really long time, then walked away. The manager I suppose then went up to my bed and yelled at me saying it was our fault for not ordering from a waiter walking around etc, then I said then you should have told us so and not that they would deliver it for us. But he just left in the middle of my sentence, the most rude service I’ve ever experienced.

If you're looking for a very organized beach, this is the way to go. The beach bar offers umbrellas and sunbeds both near the sea and by the grass, depending on whether you prefer more time under the sun or in the shadow. The waters are nice and clean, except for the jellyfish that's generally present around the island at this time. There's also the option for water sports and a free space (although slightly limited) for your own umbrellas away from the beach bar. As far as cons go, the staff wasn't the most welcoming we've seen and the prices could've been better. Also, people just freely set their individual umbrellas in front of the ones of the beach bar so the front row isn't always getting what they paid for.

We had high expectations when visiting Kastani Beach. When we arrived we were slightly underwhelmed as the beach was smaller than we had expected and nearly filled completely with sun loungers and umbrellas.

The water was beautifully clear, as are most of the waters around Skopelos.
