A beautiful and clean beach, with shallow waters which makes it ideal for families with children. There's sand inside and out. You have to go a bit early to find a place to sit (the set costs six euros) otherwise you can sit on the rocks but it's not very comfortable but more quiet.

Crystal clear waters, lots of fish in the sea, wonderful beach for children due to it's shallow waters, surrounded by lots of tree, lovely cafeteria and service to the beach.

We used the coach from Patitiri to visit this beach. Unfortunately we didn't arrive until around 11am by which every sunbed on the main beach was being used. We saw a few empty ones on a small strip at the far end so headed for them. They were in very poor condition and we had to try out several of the dirty, tatty parasols strewn around before we found one we could use. Anyway, we thought we'd start off with a dip when a young woman along and informed us we couldn't use those beds as they were for hotel guests only. If I was a guest expected to use one of those I'd be complaining as they were disgraceful! She told us we were welcome to use the beach though - good of her!
We moved off and as we couldn't find any shade we went for a drink in the very bar and stayed for lunch. Food and drink was good and the very busy waiter was efficient and friendly.
After a long lunch we found a rock on the beach, took a short swim then dried off for a while before heading back for a drink while we waited for the return coach.
Yes, I know it's July and the season is busy but 5 hours on a beach with no shade is too much. We had been told there were sunbeds and it didn't come as a surprise that it was busy but had we been told there were no areas of shade we would have bought a parasol to take.
Needless to say the hotel beds were empty all day - I'm not surprised!
It's a lovely sandy beach but very busy and not a patch on some of the pebbly beaches from a relaxing point of view. Good if you have a car and can get there early, otherwise take a sun shade!

This beach is divided in two - one side is public, the other half belongs to the hotel on the cliff above and it is monitored so one needs to keep to the right side.

We were unaware of this division although the fact that the public half was very crowded should have raised alarm bells.

It is the only really sandy beach on the island so very popular with families.

The sea is clean, its good for swimming

There is a good taverna amongst the trees, service is fast and food is good.

I would have rated it higher but having struggled in the heat to get to a space where I could sit and not finding one left me disappointed.

We visited Chrisi Milia beach on the bus & were worried that the 5.5 hours until our return trip might be too long. We had been warned that the beach bar may be closed but on 23rd September it was open. The sand is lovely the only criticism being discarded cigarette ends. The sea is shallow, clean & lovely for swimming or paddling. Two sun beds & an umbrella were 6€. The views are stunning. We had lunch at the beach bar, the menu was limited but we both had club sandwiches which were tasty & served with chips. Prices were reasonable considering that there is a captive audience. The 5.5 hours flew by!

I'm a bit of a squint with stones under foot, and I know I can get shoes, but when it comes to a gently shelving sandy beach and bay, this beach has it all. No need for Doc Martin's to get through the stones. Yes it's not as stunning as some beaches but if you love sand this is the place to be.

The Chrysi Milia beach is located about 3.5 km from the port of Alonissos. This is a beach that offers a unique environment of young pine trees touching the coastline. From there stretches a sandy beach with turquoise waters. The waters are very shallow and ideal for playing racquets and other beach sports. It is also ideal for children and adults who can not swim.

You can find umbrellas and sunbeds to rent. Near the beach there is a fish tavern with great dishes and fresh fish. You will also find there a small cabine bar for ice cream, drinks and beers

The authorities should not allow a hotel to reserve half this beach for their patrons, since it is the only sandy beach on the island and the most popular. The hotel staff kicked us out of the area when we tried sitting there, even after we offered to pay for the privilege of sitting on a vacant, crummy beach bed that had a small river running under it. You had to be desperate to sit here, and we were! Of course, the sunbed we had been kicked out of stayed empty the whole time we were on the beach. A Greek family next to us tried to blend in and escape detection but they too were booted out. We had bought the round trip ticket to the beach from Acqua Travel in the port. When we complained to the lady at Acqua on our return that there was no space and no beds free, and that a hotel had taken ownership of half of the beach, she acted surprised and claimed she had no knowledge of this. We found this impossible to believe. Evidently the more people know of this the fewer bus tickets will be sold. Many Greek families arriving after us were also furious since there was not even room to put up your own umbrella. Since there was a four hour wait for the return bus we stood on a patch of sand for an hour or so before the sea washed our towels away and we called it a day. A rotten experience.

Nice sandy beach, with shallow waters for the first meters, so ideal for families. Dissapointing for me was the "renting beds and shade", rather than a minimum consumption rule, meaning that over a stable price, sunbeds should be free.. Especially in the condition that they were in! I don't know why the professionals of the island seem to try to discourage people who love and visit the island, from returning..
