We went to Kokinokastro at the beginning of September and it was awsome. Very few people, maybe 1-2 boats, which were not enough to disturb our view of the sea, and crystal waters! The beach is organised but not in an aggravating way. The best beach of Alonissos in my opinion, along with Agios Dimitrios and Mikros Mourtias!

Small beach mostly covered by small pebbles. The red hills surrounding this beach (red due to the colour of the ground in this area) make this a beach different than all the others. The red hills look nice in pictures. The waters aren't too bad either ;)

When my partner and I visited in early October the beach was unorganised and beautifully wild. It is an organised beach with umbrellas and little beach hut selling refreshments during the season. We prefer it empty, wild and unorganised.
It is glorious and easy to reach. We walked from Votsi village for about an hour through beautiful roads and forests.
The water is gorgeous and clear. It is not a windy beach as it has got a little island right in front of it.
Highly recommended.

A very beautiful beach in a bay that was created after the collapse of an ancient village. If you notice closely you'll see the remains of a stone wall. Archaeologists discovered that the bay was created more than 5000 years ago after an earthquake or some other phenomenon that made part of the land to sink. Nowadays it is a very beautiful bay, protected from the wind. There is a beach bar with sunbeds and umbrellas on the one side, while on the other you can go with your own umbrella. Appropriate for couples and families.

What a scenery! Simple sun beds, but a bar for some drinks and ice cream is there. Swimming is fun. Cannot have a better place for the body and soul.

In the summers of 1980, 1981 and 1982, this beach was already fairly familiar. Taxi boats then sailed to it, not anymore. I (Dutch boy with the name Carlos / Karl) had a nice job on the beach there in the summer months together with a few Greeks. A simple bar with a refrigerator in the middle of the beach in a rock recess under a tree. A few surfboards and sailing boats made it complete. Because of the then very casual atmosphere an idyllic place with very nice contacts in the simple bar.

This is anciently historic Greece right up close around you. Kokinokastro beach where the submerged small city reminds you of the birth of Alonissos taking you back several thousand years BC. A beautiful spot to be engulfed by the rippling waters..

Unique view and landscape. Very clean water as in all places on the island. There is a small cafe and sunbeds.
