Visited from Athens for the day and although the port is very quaint and pretty there isn’t that much to actually do. Beaches nearby are not the best either. Couldn’t imagine staying here longer than a weekend.

Accessible by boat or ferry, Poros is a pretty port with many shops and restaurants. The harbor is full of many boats of many sizes. Nice place to have a gelato and people and ship watch.

Just loved Poro’s. The port is lovely , picturesque and buzzing with activity. Excellent restaurants and a great base to explore the rest of the island. Really enjoyed my stay here. The island itself has some great beaches and the views if you travel inland are stunning

Poros is a quaint little island which can be accessed via ferry or hydrofoil. The best way to see the island is to hire a car for the day.
The beating heart of the island, is Poros Port which has numerous bars and cafes that run parallel with a channel that separates Poros from the opposite island. In the summer it is a magnet for sailing boats. By 4pm these boats will be moored up along the quay, usually stern too. However, the down side is that some of the crews down a little to much of the amber nectar and it can get a bit rowdy. Some of their boat parties continue well into the night. Its not unusual for some of these to go on until three or four in the morning. Be warned if you want to stay near the waterfront. Bring some ear plugs!!
Behind the port area there are plenty of houses and sights to see. There is a climb involved which can be a little tough if you are not in good shape. The views across the bay are stunning especially at sunset.
That said there isn`t really that much to do in Poros. There are beaches within walking distance but whilst the sea is very inviting the beaches which includes Askeli beach are somewhat small and can be crowed in the summer months especially with Greek families. The sun loungers will cost you five euro`s (2019) to hire for the day.
To conclude whilst Poros is a lovely place there isn`t in all honesty that much to do unless you want to laze on the beach and eat and drink. A week would be more than enough if you are thinking of going.

Poros is a lovely island to visit. Travelling from Galatas to Poros on the small taxi boats only takes a few minutes and costs 1€. We had a beautiful meal in a lovely Taverna close to the port. Fish was very fresh and prices were reasonable. The people are very welcoming on this island and great to visit for the day. Highly recommended

Poros is my favorite island in Saronikos. It has a protected port, many tavernas with delicious food and fresh fish, a marina full of yachts and in the background the small houses with the Greek architecture of the 19th century.
Unfortunately The marina is not in a perfect condition as the port authorities do not care much - as usual in Greece when it comes to infrastructure

So, in late August here, things clear up as kids and tourists head home for School,,the port is preferred by the Yachsters, Sailboat Owners..and often, they will head for Russian Bay and in that neck of the woods..in quiet waters sandwiched between the Peloponnese Mountains and the Island, a mere mile from the Coastland. If time allows , head to the next bay and be enthralled by a great view of sea, mountains and seaside villas and beaches. It s a paradise this island, beyond the Port. Rent a scooter..leave them your passport..trust..love..live.. here for ten euros a day and go explore.Strap your tent and luggage on it and head towards Russian Bay,,beautiful country..the most beautiful island of Greece in my eyes..very geen lush italian vibe like in its best resorts...the scooter rental, open air Cinema is great ..all on this trip..for great delicious two euro gyros head away from the strip ..on a small parallel walking alley three streets away from the strip..The church and tower are nearby, just north of it.

This is a magical place, because everytime we sit at the port wether its for a milkshake, coffee, a snack or lunch/dinoer time flies twice as fast!

It manage to have a busy vibe along with a very special calmness and peace..

You can sit here for hours and just watch and observe life and people.

Its one of my favorite things to do in Poros.

It is a great port, but really your only option when taking a ferry to or from Poros. There are lots of facilities nearby, including restaurants, bank, pharmacy, etc.
