If you are any kind of walker, I strongly recommend the walk up Mount Eros. I'm not saying you should follow their example but I came upon one person walking up (and nearly at the summit) in flip flops. If you have reasonable fitness, plenty...More

I will recommend to start early in the morning for this walk up to Mount Eros. You'll arrive at the Monastery first, so bring with you some clothes if you want to go inside. You will find sign to Mount Eros. I will recommend you...More

The beginning of the path is not very clear and could do with some more red marks. The same goes for the top of the path. The marks are not very visible, often turned almost very light pink in the sun so they are very...More

The view from the summit was spectacular but the hike from the monastery was challenging. Take your time, watch carefully for the pink/red marks/rock cairns and you will be rewarded. Definitely need good shoes and lots of water.

This is a strenuous but worthwhile hike. The path to the Profits Ilias monastery leads up bucolic switchbacks, with swaying pines offering generous shade. Stop at the monetary to rest and refill your water bottles, because a challenging scramble to the top lies ahead. If...More

Let's be very clear: this is not a short hike or casual stroll. To get to the top and enjoy what Mt. Eros has to offer you will need 3-5 hours depending on your fitness level and pace to make this worthwhile journey. That stated,...More

Great hike but stay hydrated and go early before it is too hot! Lovely Monastery at the (almost) end - only another 100 feet higher to reach the peak and see all the views.

We hiked up the mountain starting at about 9 am and when we got to the top about two hours later, we were the only ones there. On our way back down, the sun was much hotter, so I recommend going before the afternoon sun...More

A must go, breathtaking views of Hydra, the Aegean and one of the best sunrises in the world! Words are not enough to describe the feeling!

Don't underestimate it. The climb to the summit of Mt. Eros is not a stroll in the park. It is steep in parts but the track is well maintained. The views are simply amazing. It is worth it if you persevere.
