This is an excellent museum that will help you make sense of either what you have seen or will see on the archaeological site of Olympia. The winged victory (Nike) is particularly impressive when you remember the pillar on the site on which it had...More
The archaelogical museum in the area of ancient Olympia gives a good introduction to the history of Greece and the Greek, not only the olympic games. There are many statues and parts of them as well as other objects from many thousands of years ago...More
Very fitting way to get a better understanding of the site. Well set out with a lot of information about the site. Also some of the statues and artifacts that were found on the site are preserved in this modern building. A must see if...More

We did the Olympia excursion and thoroughly enjoyed it. It does take up most of the day but is WELL worth it. The historical and cultural exposure is fantastic. I learned a ton of new things! Katakolon is a fine little seaside village for shopping and a drink or snack. Nowhere near a day's worth to do there. Good luck!
