We visited early in the day and there were no crowds. We were able to get some epic photos because we were the only people around. We were also joined by some of the local cats who apparently come out and show people around the...More

My wife and I are not sports buff,s but this site was well worth the visit. It is the beginning of the Olympics with all the ancient sites. For history and sports lovers, this is it. The place to go.

Tour buses arrive mostly from cruise ships in the nearby port so it is probably best to tour in the late afternoon or evening. We used Rick Steves guide book and found the self-guided tour to be extremely interesting, bringing all the activities of the...More

Although almost all pillars and temples are destroyed with a little imagination you can immerse yourself in the life of the ancient Greeks. It is nice if you have a map with explanations in a travel guide and otherwise buy a booklet with explanations in...More

The town has welcomed travelers for millennia and hospitality is warm and genuine...sit in a tree lined lane and enjoy a coffee...walk to the Olympic site and be one of the 45,000 who came to see the games and become friends...we loved it here!

Lovely landscape for an impressive atmospheric site. Interesting to see that the temple to Zeus had been destroyed by Christians and wonderful to see the most beautiful sculptures that had decorated the top of the building and are now kept in the museum. I took...More

One of the highlights of a tour through Greece. Very nice setting in the landscape and informative plates on greek, english and german. Come early in the morning or late to avoid the bus loads of tourists from cruise ships. Also, go to the museum...More

As mentioned, go when the facility opens. It will give you time to wander in peace and take it the sites. The walking is easy...no hills. Please allow time to visit the museum. Tour groups can be an issue. People are running... More

Hello, the site is amazing, you should allocate a morning visiting the site, there are 3 museums on site, refreshments are available in one of the museum, sensible shoes should be worn.
