I normally bend over backwardss to give a great review, but I feel that I must point out some shortcomings with this tour.
Pros:
Our group of 8 was promptly picked up in 2 taxis (we would have preferred 1 van for all of us, but no matter).
Andrew and the other driver were very friendly and spoke reasonable English.
We were taken on a long drive through the countryside and visited a lovely family-run winery, where we were treated to an interesting tour of the vineyard and the wine-making facility. Aferwards, we were each treated to a glass of white wine and a glass of red wine, along with delicious bread, olives, tomatoes and a few cold cuts.
Cons:
Please note that you will be charged an extra 8 Euros each for the vineyard tour and wine.
One of our group was unable to come as he was ill on board ship. Although, I suppose, Andrew was within his rights to charge us for this missing guest, I felt that it was ungracious for his wife to have to pay 30 Euros for him, as well as the 30 Euros for herself. We already had paid 210 Euros for the 7 of us and it would have made good marketing sense for Andrew to forego the extra 30 Euro charge for our ill friend.
It was understood that we would receive a bottle of olive oil from the family olive orchard as part of the tour. After the tour ended, I learned that I was the only one (as the unofficial tour organizer) who got the olive oil. The other 3 couples did not recieve a bottle of olive oil. A small point, but, again, an ungracious decision on Andrew's part.
Although we did go for a long drive, there was a minimum of information given as to the history of the region, what we were seeing, etc. It was more of a taxi ride than a guided tour.
Our itinerary was to include a visit to the Flokia Theatre, Virgin Mary Monastery and Saint Andreas Beach. None of these were visited.
