We visited Katakolon on October 31st and had booked a tour with Andreas. Andreas was always quick to respond to my emails whenever I had any questions about the tour. There were 6 of us, Andreas was on time meeting us at the port, and our first stop was Olympia, where Andreas had a guide, Maria, waiting for us to tour the site. She was absolutely amazing. It was raining that day and Andreas had big umbrellas for all of us. At the end of the tour of Olympia, Andreas was waiting for us and we continued on to sightsee, stopping at Klio’s Honey Farm, then on a scenic drive up into the mountains. Andreas owns a olive farm and had meant to bring all of us a bottle to olive oil, he forget them at his house. He really wanted us to have it, so on our way back to the ship he stopped at his house to pick up the bottles. He couldn’t do enough for us. We had a wonderful day and I highly recommend him, you won’t be sorry.

We visited Katakolon end of November with MSC cruise. We had pre-booked our taxi tour and our driver, Andreas, was waiting for us when we left the ship. Andreas proved to be an excellent guide with good English, a comfortable vehicle and a passionate knowledge of local history and culture. First we drove to Olympia where he made sure we know where to go and how to meet him later, he stopped on the way for photos whenever we wanted. The return journey was on quiet country roads and included a spectacular visit to a monastery. He also stopped at a olive oil factory to show us how fresh olive oil is made from olives. He also send us each of us a bottle of his home pressed olive oil as a gift. We had a great trip with Andreas and highly recommend him.

My wife and I visited Katakolon on 11th October, arriving on Fred Olsen’s cruise ship “Braemar”. It was our first vislt. We had pre-booked our taxi tour and our driver, Andreas, was waiting for us when we left the ship. Andreas proved to be an excellent guide with good English, a comfortable vehicle and a passionate knowledge of local history and culture. First we drove to Olympia where he made sure we got the seniors admission and made full use of our time to see the main sites and museums. The return journey was on quiet country roads and included a spectacular visit to a monastery. He also stopped to pick pomagranates at the roadside and presented us with a bottle of his home pressed olive oil. Overall we had a great trip with a good and friendly driver.

Andreas is wonderful! Meeting him was easy and he used a head set so that he could more easily talk to the entire group while driving. He took us to Olympia and escorted us in to help us buy our tickets. He explained exactly what we should do and expect and met us afterwards, at the designated time. According to the tour description, we got to choose one extra stop. We had decided on the beach. Andreas said, "We can do more than that! How about we stop at the honey farm first. It is very close!" So we all half heartedly agreed. We werent that interested, but it was close, so why not? It was wonderful! Klio's honey farm was the highlight of the day! The farm is so picturesque and Klio taught us all about it. We were giving samples of everything, and I had to buy it all to take home! We loved our time at Klio's! Then Andreas took us on a scenic drive, up into the mountains, past the monastery and on to the beach. On the way to the beach, we passed a large farm and we could see a combine working. Curious, we stopped to watch and saw that they were harvesting peanuts! Andreas said, "Come on!" and we clambord down the small hill and went to talk to the farmers. Even though we were all total strangers, they were friendly and welcoming and offered us freshly dug peanuts to try! We got to eat fresh, raw peanuts that had been in the ground only minutes earlier! They were delicious! They even gave us some to take with us! The beach was also completely perfect! Beautiful, clear, water and lots of little fish. There was a great restaurant overlooking the water so that the members of our party that did not want to swim could relax and enjoy a drink with a fabulous view. I could have definitely spent more time at the beach, but sadly our time ran out way too quickly! As Andreas dropped us off back in port, he gave each of us a small bottle of olive oil that the had pressed from the olives from his very own olive trees! What a wonderful surprise and the very best souvenir! I cannot recommend Andreas enough. He gave us an absolutely perfect day and one I have not been able to stop telling people about. We have wonderful memories of one of the best days of our vacation!

My family arrived in katakolon on board MSC magnifica. As soon as we left the ship we saw Andreas waiting as planned. Straight into his clean car and off to Olympia . Andreas was very helpful along the way explaining things to my family and it was clear that he was passionate about his country ., We arrived at Olympia and spent 2 hours or more exploring this fantastic site . After completing this and the museum we headed back towards Katakolon vide the old road . Stopping off in a little town meeting some local people who invited us inside. We continued on towards the old monastery up on the hill where we enjoyed perfect views of the valley below . After a further 30 minutes we were dropped off at the terminal . This gentleman gave my wife two bottles of home made and grown olive oil . In addition, he supplied us with cold water multiple times on the 4 hour trip . I found him on trip advisor and booked him due to the great reviews . We were not disappointed.. kind gentleman and lovely guide . Totally recommend him !!
