Our family of 5 had a wonderful private tour of Olympia with Andreas Stamos. Andreas is knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. Since we were on a cruise our time was quite limited, but he was able to plan a day that included the Archaeological site (Temple of Zeus, Temple of Hera, Leonidaion, Phillipeion, Palaestra, the workshop of Phidias, and the stadium). We also visited the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of the Olympic Games. The highlight of our tour was a visit to the Magna Grecia Olive Farm, where we were greeted with a glass of the farm's white wine and taken on a guided tour in the olive mill areas, where the owner explained all stages of processing, extraction and storage of the olive oil. We were able to sample many different aromatic olive oils, which was followed by a delicious farm's typical lunch. Andreas suggested this option in place of a winery tour and it was a truly unique experience.
We ended our day relaxing at the beautiful Agios Andreas beach before returning to our ship.
