Rent a car and take a road trip up the mountains of Korinthia prefecture for a stunning scenery in peaceful nature... The lake is between mountains and it is best to visit during early spring time or autumn. The air up to those mountains is crisp and clear. Amazing feeling (In recent years though, during summer the lake dries to... More

Unfortunately there isn't really much of a lake at all at this time of the year. It is more like a swampy marshland. It is good for nature-spotting and we saw a couple of birds of prey, but there isn't really anywhere to chill out and relax so we didn't stay long. However, I would recommend visiting the nearby Environment... More

A beautiful small lake with a great and eventful history. Bring your binoculars to watch the birds and read the myth of Hercules who killed the Stymphalien Hens

The lake can be found between big mountains. We took a trip around the lake and it was magnificant. It was very quiet and you could here all the different birds sing. Although the view (and the roadtrip) was beautiful, sadly the lake was almost fully covered with greenery. So it was totally different than all the images we had... More

We loved the scenes of winter' s nature! Mountains, lakes, trees, birds, fresh air! You feel refreshed after a big breath of oxygen! There are a lot of traditional villages near the lake and taverns with tasteful food, wine and sweets! A good trip near Athens, for relaxing and enjoying the nature! Your kids will love the place!

Lake Stymphalia was not necessarily a destination for us but rather a stop on our road trip through some of the more rural areas of the Peloponnese. The lake is interesting if only for its reputation as a home of nasty man-eating birds. Of course, long before our visit legendary hero Hercules, had well and truly sorted them out. The... More

This is a beautiful lake but unfortunately nothing has been done to give opportunities to the visitors to appreciate its beauty. There is hardly a sign mainly I presume because of the identical name of the village, so if you are unsure about its location its just outside the village of Stymfalia. A place rich with beauty and a myth... More

My husband's family come from a village near this "lake" so I've seen it quite a few times and at different times of the year. There is nothing to see - its an underwhelming swamp full of straw. Surprised it's even on tripadvisor.

Although the lake is supposed to be larger that the other lake of the area (Doxa Lake) you don't get to see much of it. Most of its surface is covered with reeds and looks like it is dried. Too bad, it would have been a great view.
