We were very recently visiting Thessaloniki with our dear friends from the U.S. This was their very first visit, for us the second visit - we practically passed through Thessaloniki the first time, several years ago, visiting very little and on our way to our vacation place. Upon very high recommendations from my friend, we decided to book this food... More

Despina was a great host from the moment we entered her lab/teaching kitchen for coffee and pastries to the delicious traditional gyros and ouzo lunch at a local café. We learned so much about the area, the history, the traditions and influences on the local food and how it became more widely accepted and available throughout the world. As we... More

The tour is an excellent way to see a chunk of the old town while sampling a range of local delicacies. This is particularly true if you are only visiting for a day or two and want to see as much as possible. We walked Route 3, which finishes with a wonderful lunch sampling various dishes. One word of warning... More

I was in April 2015 in Thessaloniki and experienced Eat & Walk tour. It was very interesting for me, because it was great opportunity to taste original Greek food - many types of cheeses, olives, gyros, bugatsa... I especially enjoyed tasting marmalades made of many types of fruits, and some vegetables, such as carrot! It is very delicious. In the... More

The Eat and Walk tour was one of the highlights of our stay in Thessoloniki. We started the tour by meeting at the cooking lab, enjoying a cup of Greek coffee and a little history lesson of the area as it related to food. We walked to various markets and shops sampling food all along the way. Despina gave us... More

We met Despina at the Eat and Walk cooking lab; located within walking distance of Thessaloniki's busiest shopping street. She took us to several markets places, while telling us stories about Thessaloniki's history and its people. At the market places we had ample opportunity to smell things and try things. Back at the lab we started the actual cooking. My... More

We did Tour 3 with Eat and Walk in Thessaloniki. We have done other food walking tours before, but this was by far the best we have experienced. We started with a traditional breakfast and introduction to the history of food in Thessaloniki/Greece. We then walked through the food markets and went to local speciality shops to learn more about... More

Friendly staff and fantastic food and drink. Shouldn't miss if you visit the city. Getting a historical culinary perspective in the office before the tour start accompanied by tasty bougatsa, koulouria and Greek coffee added nicely to the full experience. Thank you Despoina.

My mom and I took route 2 with Despina and had a GREAT time! It was our first morning in Thessaloniki and the food tour and history were the perfect introduction to the city. There were 4 of us total in the tour, so it was small and intimate. Despina started the tour in her kitchen/office with Greek coffee (I... More
