wonder of early orthodox world

this orthodox church is not on the main streets, but may be due to that it remained so well conserved. Fresco inside are so old and so impressive!

Βuilt by Patriarch Nephon (1310-1314) and his pupil, Abbot Pavlos. It is built in the complex five - domed tetrastyle cross-in-square type. Of great interest is the structure of the external facades of the monument. Its interior contains excellent mosaic decoration, characteristic of the final period of Palaeologan art. One of the 15 Unesco monuments
