Don't Miss

The artifacts in this museum are well presented. Don't miss the tombs, they present a window into the ancient world.

Go in knowing pretty much nothing, and leave knowing a lot- this museum has a great narrative layout, and thorough, engaging signage that captures the imagination. Much of the finds are from right outside- it will enhance your visit immeasuably.

Entry prices have risen excessively in Greece recently ( a bad "business model" I think ?) but your money will be well spent here ! Fascinating and beautiful exhibits which are brilliantly displayed and described. Great for someone with just a passing interest in the ancient world or for the seasoned expert. If you can't make it to Vergina then... More

This is an excellent museum, I'd say right up there with the likes of the Acropolis Museum in Athens. If you're planning viewing any archeological sites while in Thessaloniki, call here first. Their displays of artifacts and the descriptions will give you an excellent understanding of the city and how it came to be. I think it cost us about... More

This is an excellent, well designed museum that is worth your time. After all, everyone visits numerous archaeological sites when visiting Greece. There is an introductory film and most signage is available in English as well as Greek. Be sure to visit the room with the interactive displays. They are High-Tech, as well as informative.

A world of history is made accessible! The exhibits are wonderful and organized to tell the story of Thessolonki's role in the ancient world. We bout the ticket which provides a €9 discount for visiting Byzantine Museum and the White Tower and costs €15 each.
