A museum one must visit when in Thessaloniki as it faithfully traces early Christianity, through to Byzantine and present. Early decoration of churches, the mosaics, the wall paintings and portable icons as well as many objects found in excavated cemeteries and ruins around city. Vases, coins, jewellery, domestic items and much more. The museum I believe has won many European... More

Good exhibition about the byzantine period in a great building. Not too big so I would say that in 1 1/2 hour you can see it all. Building is very nice too!

Spent a happy Sunday afternoon here enjoying the wonderful exhibits. The "B" cafe is a real strength and we enjoyed tea & cake in a beautiful outdoor setting. This is the place for fans of the late Roman age.
