The tour to Pella and Vergina started on time from the pick up point, which was easy to find and very central in Thessaloniki. The group was small thus allowing some exchange between the participants. The guide took advantage of the car trip to the archaelogical sites of Pella and Vergina to tell more about the environment around us and proved pleasant and helpful. We got water during the trip. The minibus driver drove safely. We had enough time to visit the ruins in Pella, maybe half an hour more for the museum would have allowed us to see everything in it a little bit better.
Both destinations Pella and Vergina are not to be missed.
The lunch at a restaurant close to Vergina (extra payment) was fine.

We took a day trip to Delphi. Our guide Theodore was excellent. He provided very interesting commentary the entire ride and was so patient & kind answering questions posed by my elderly mother. While he was unable to provide a guided tour of the Delphi historical site he prepped us very well before we arrived and it made the walk-through feel very educational.

We had 16 degrees outside, but the baths are at 35 degrees making them a perfect deep. We started by doing a short walk to the waterfall (35 mins) with great scenery points and then we bathed in the thermal pools (2 eur per person). A perfect day!

The bus was old. We heard in the beginning that there was a mechanical problem, but they decide To go. It breaks down 1 hour after we start our journey. We had to wait 3 hours another bus in the middle of nowhere in an unsafe area.

We came back at 22h30. Everyone was upset.

Never Again.

Avoid Ammon Tours! Although the price is the same as other companies, Ammon does not hire licensed guides. So while the attendant was sweet, she had no knowledge of the sites or how to manage a group. As a result, we had limited, unguided time in only two monasteries and no lunch. The driver's schedule was more important than the clients' service, I'm sorry to say. I gave this an extra star just because Meteora was astoundingly beautiful. So we enjoyed our day, even though all we really got was a busride.

I wish you could postpone the tour since the weather was really bad ... we were not able to see how marvelous the scene was ... the monasteries were amazing but it would be much better to go there in clear weather
Helen was a great assistant to all tourists in the bus ..
And The bus was comfort
I have enjoyed the trip and meet new people
I wish in future you would take this note in consideration and not doing a tour in bad weather

A must visit place if you are wherever less than 200 km away. Especially during winter time where the whether outside is cold . The feeling of switching from cold to hot water together with the imposing view of the mountains is unique.

The excursion that we booked, and that was outlined in the publicity, and that we were looking forward to, was not what we received. To make sure that we were on target, we read the publicity leaflet several times after our excursion. I don't like to write negative reviews, especially on a potentially wonderful excursion, but we were quite disappointed. To begin with, there were four of us on the excursion, crowded into a car meant for three passengers. With three full sized adults in the back seat, and considerable time in the car (I was in the middle), it was very uncomfortable. Secondly, although our guide was a lovely person, and knowledgeable in his own field, he was not prepared for this particular excursion. When we arrived in Veria, there was little information provided on the Jewish community that had been there before WW 2 and Hitler decimated it, and the synagogue was closed. Considering that there was a sign in Greek and English at the entrance to the synagogue giving the hours, I would have expected a tour guide to this specific site to have known if it would be open. Only because we expressed our considerable disappointment, was the effort made to locate the woman who cares for the site, who eventually came to open it. She was wonderful, and gave a beautiful explanation of the site and the community, but we heard nothing from our guide about the Jewish quarter, as was promised in the publicity. This is a unique area, and we truly wanted to hear much more of the history, which is still relatively recent. During the long car ride to the vineyard, we were given no explanation as to what the area was that we were driving through. In addition, we were given to understand that there seemed to be a problem with the availability of the person who usually gives the tour. When we finally arrived, someone (who did not speak English) gave us a rather uninformative tour (as translated by our guide) - and as a couple who has been on wine tasting tours elsewhere, this one was far less than promised and far less than it could have been. We are very disappointed that the day was far less than promised, and do not feel that we got good value for the money we spent.

Dear MGG47, We would like to thank you for taking the time to quote us your comments. First of all, we are very sorry for the inconvenience caused regarding the private car. The final selection of the coach depends on the number of the travelers. In small groups we use VIP vehicles, in order to provide high quality services and schedule flexibility. All our trip attendants-archaeologists keep you well informed about the various sites, but they also bear in mind to let you enjoy the beautiful landscapes taking your own time. The schedule of our partners (museums, point of interest etc) unfortunately can be modified sometimes without previous notification, but we are happy that our trip attendant solved this incident successfully. The experience in the winery is a unique chance to see closely how organic wine is produced and our fellow partners give their best, in order to give you a feeling of their daily life in the wine cellar. Hope to see you again in the future. Best regards, Ammon express team

A great day trip to Pozar and Edessa. The communication before the tour was good. There are five options for pick up locations. Our guide Emilio was friendly and helpful, catering to people’s requirements. The tour was done in a small minivan with working A/C, although it was warmer at the back of the van compared to the front.
There felt like enough time at each of the destinations. It might be better to advise people beforehand of the €1 locker rental so people have the right change. There was time for a nice lunch in Edessa before seeing the waterfalls. We got back into Thessaloniki for about 4:30.

My wife & I took this excursion 4/14/2019. Our guide Latitialena was wonderful. Personable, caring and helpful. I can recommend her highly and without reservation. She was not however an archeologist as advertised. We met her on time at the Metro as described. We then went by bus (no WiFi despite advertisement) to Pireus Port. There were 6 of us. We then boarded a large ferry type boat with hundreds of others. The ship was more than 50 meters. The ad said no more than 20 in group but that must have meant Metro to ferry because we were with a large number on boat. Ferry staff pleasant and efficient. Staff gave info on islands and excursions available for extra. We did Walking tour of Hydra and Panoramic bus tour of Aegina. Walking tour 45 minutes and definitely not worth the cost. You could easily do yourself. No free time to see anything at end of tour. Buffet lunch quite good. Poros stop too brief for anything. Climbed to clock tower, then time to leave. Presentation on Aegina intimated nothing to do at the port unless we took bus tour. Tour was rapid with 5 or 6 photo stops. Bus stopped briefly to take pictures through windows without exiting bus. 1 stop at monastery, again too brief, then back to town through pistachio growing area. Stop in town for sample of seafood a bust. Food ran out before everyone through the line. No free time for anything. I cannot recommend this trip. Definitely would not recommend the extra activities on the islands. Not worth the money. Island times much too brief. Maybe eliminating Poros to allow more time in other 2 islands would help. Ad suggests this is a small group tour on smaller vessel. Definitely not true. Suggesting one bring swim wear implies time to use it which is a joke.

Dear Denis671214, Thank you for taking the time to quote us your review. Your feedback is more than welcomed, as we aim to give to our travelers the highest level of services. Regarding your recent experience with us please note that all our trip attendants are either archaeologists or persons with classical studies in Greek and European culture. As stated on our website and on the other platforms we co-operate with, the cruise is realized with a 40m modern vessel. Our activity does not include more than 20 travelers, though other tour operators participate in the cruise as well. About the activities and tour guides for each island, bear in mind that they are optional extra services of the cruise operator. We are the only agency with an escort during the cruise who also provides walking tours for each island only for our travelers, in order to live a unique experience with us. The swim wear is indeed required (during summer season), as if you don't take the tour guides of the cruise, there is plenty of time to enjoy the crystal clear Aegean sea. We hope to see you again in the future. Best regards, Ammon Express team
