Cruise to Kefalonia, Ithaca & the beaches around Lefkada

The cruise departs from Nidri, passing many bays and villages, including Vasiliki and sailing round the southern tip of Lefkas islnad, known as Sappho’s leap. The first stop is at the stunning bay of Porto Katsiki and the imposing Egremni beach. Your journey continues on to Fiskardo Kefalonia, a picturesque fishing village and the only one left standing following the catastrophic earthquake of 1953.
The next stop is on the island of Ithaki, believed to be the home of Odysseus. Here you can visit the museum, have lunch and perhaps another swim.
On the return journey the captain will take the baot inside the famous Papanikolis’ cave, where a submarine lay hidden during the 2nd World War.
The last part of the cruise takes you around island of Scorpios, otherwise known as the Onassis island. Here you will be told the history of the tragic family and there will be time for a last swim.
Return to Nidri passing the island of Madouri or Poet’s island.

A composite of eateries, fine swimming opportunities and a protected water inlet in essence in the SE of the island- actually the most interesting with the western cliffs. Wight (Isle of~) and Lefkada have the same rare and 'commensurate' in alliterative terms names. The Mikrow Gialos retails what all other equivalent beaches + have not retained "This is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning."

The beach is not large, but offers clean crystal water, calm with small waves, pebbles, no sand....there are sunbeds and umbrellas, you can order beverages from the tavernas nearby...really relaxing place, worth visiting.

After a narrow road through the mountains you reach this great beach with clear and calm water. It's a great place for snorkeling and to enjoy swimming. Not to many restaurants(at least in September), but you can find something for your belly.

As the beach was in front our “windows”- just step away and we preferred to use it. Of course we were somehow out of season, mainly not into weekends and was not so crowded. Beach area is with mid-average round stones(pebbles) and is highly recommended to use beach-shoes in order to feel much more comfortable and safe. Anyhow – into both corners is with very small stones and even have a small sand spot too. Seabed is with same type of the stones and is relatively deep – just a few meters(3-4m) from shore line and already is quite deep. But no any beneath currents. Water is so clear and visibility down being very good – you may see some small fish beneath sea surfaces without any difficulties. As there is no any waves(mainly just a few centimeters in the heights) is a suitable for any floating devices and for kids …. Beside that I read about water temperatures – it is quite warm(beg of September). Ok – after first initial “shock” :) … Beach area is really clean, well developed and there are umbrellas and chairs against payment, but have it areas where you may place your own equipment without any problems. Surrounding café’s and restaurant serving drinks and meals – ok, a bit overprices, but as it remotely area – it should be a normal. The main problem as per my opinion is the parking – if you arrive a bit later, especially during weekends. Road after Poros’ village is quite hard – curves and is better to have it “good stomach” :) …. As per my opinion is more family orientated beach than … beach for adventures ….
