About
This remote beach is located on the south-western coast of Lefkada and requires a considerable effort to reach—from the parking lot, visitors must hike a steep path and then descend over 300 steps to reach the beach. There is a snack bar with toilet facilities at the top of the steps and a handful of sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent. It’s far easier to get to the beach by boat, but you do miss out on the spectacular views from the top. Whichever way you choose to arrive, you’ll find one of the world’s most pristine and unspoiled beaches, its remoteness offering peacefulness and tranquility. – Tripadvisor

    Best beach in Lefkada
1st I Loved this beach. Stunning water, not overly crowded, stunning natural beauty. 2nd This beach isn’t for everyone. If your old, out of shape, already a little sunburnt, have small children this beach is probably not for you. Parking is easy and cost 5 Euro but then you have a 1km hike down to a place where there is a really nice beach bar where you can get food , drinks and use the only washroom around. Then you have 400 plus stair climb down to the beach. There’s a place to buy water , rent just a umbrella . There are maybe 8 sets of sun beds for rent that go very quick so you need to bring everything you need for a day. The climb for me was fine . I’m 35 healthy and workout a lot . I did the 400 stairs. Stopped for 45 min for drinks and some food at the bar and then started the 1km up hill climb to the parking lot. A lot of people were having a lot of problem with the return trip. Stopping a lot , one person was down with what it looked like heat stroke. Other people must have not brought umbrellas or cash for one and we’re clearly burnt to a crisp. 3rd I believe timing is key. Maybe it’s better head down to the beach at like 2-3 enjoy the sun, beach get a umbrella , swim . Lots of sun screen and come up like 7ish in the cool , stop at the bar no matter what and have some cool drinks. Take a 30 min break and then do the last 1km up hill hike. I didn’t find the bar over priced or anything honestly. 4th For me the beach was worth it. I loved the adventure, I loved the challenge and because it’s a challenge it’s less crowed. Me and my girlfriend had the best day. I’ll never forget this beach or day!

    AMAZING 10/10
This beach is unbelievable. You MUST visit this when you go to Lefkas. There is a place to park your car for 7 euros ( which is reasonable in my opinion) if you want to risk it you can try to park just before this area but it’s super busy and doesn’t look like a good place to leave your car. Then there is a walk down to the stairs , then 400 steps down. It is just stunning taking in the view from all parts of the journey down. It is very hot on the beach so wear sun cream or take an umbrella and lots of water. Also consider the walk back up to your car, don’t take bags and bags as it is steep and long and windy. BUT 100% worth it, and it would be silly to suggest otherwise. I think it’s better to see this beach by car, as you can spend time at your own leisure and you get to see the awesome view from the road down to it and on the steps.

    Peaceful paradise
To get to Egremni Beach we had to park up in a wooded area (this was about €7 or so), hike a few kilometres (on a road that had a 15% incline) downhill and then tackle 400+ steps that cling to the beach. Walking to the beach (and back to the car) gets the blood pumping but it does mean that Egremni itself is much quieter than some of the other beaches. The sand is bright white and the water crystal clear. The beach is long and very natural - there’s no cafe on the beach itself so it feels wild. We enjoyed the hike and the beach itself - one of the nicest of all those we’ve visited across the Greek islands.

Although the beach is beautiful it is not worth the hike. The road is closed and you have to pay 8 euro for parking then walk for 20 min. The way down was ok to walk, but the way up absolutely kills you. The stairs themselves (410 of them) were bere able, but walking uphill after that was torture.

Gorgeous beach with blue water like you’ve never seen. Don’t underestimate the walk though, it’s a kilometre walk in the hot sun BEFORE the 400 steps scaling the cliff. Not for the feignt-hearted! There is only one little store renting stick-in umbrellas for €8 which were great but went quickly. We got there early and all sunbeds were gone. Absolutely beautiful views though.

Worth the effort, sense of achievement.

Parking at the top is well organised and reasonably priced for the area.

There’s a 1.3km 15% gradient downhill walk to get to the steps which take you down to the beach. Be aware that a large portion of the newly built 400 steps hang off the side of the cliff, and aren’t for the faint hearted or those worried by heights.

The beach itself is beautiful, clean, pebbly, with lots of space and it’s easy to avoid the tour boats which come into the left hand side of the cove.

Would definitely recommend over Porto Katsiki.

I’d visit again, as it is worth the effort but take plenty of water and be prepared for a brutal climb back to the car.

5 adults including a 79 yo grandmother and 4 toddlers visited this beautiful beach.

Parking is 7 euros but then you walk like crazy to get to it and then the stairs.

Amazing view and blue water. As you get to it, you've got sand on the left, rocks on the right, no services on the beach but a small restaurant on top of the stairs.

Also quite deep within 5-7 meters and medium waves.

As long as you are aware that this is less of a beach day and more of a hike with a turquoise sea halfway through it, you will fall in love with Egremni. Wear comfortable shoes, bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen and a hat, and bring food/towels/water shoes/umbrella. And for the love of all things remote, leave your beach chair, enormous floatie, and seventy year old Yiayia behind for this trip. There is nothing convenient about this adventure. Nothing. Not one tiny, little, solitary thing. Remember that there is a mountain to walk down before you even descend the 400-plus stairs…and that same mountain awaits you (this time uphill and hot!) right after you ascend those same 400 stairs. As we say, though, no pain, no gain…and there is plenty to gain between the dreamy blue waters, the goats scaling the steep cliffs above, the warm sun, and magnificent views. Enjoy!

The beach is very long and not crowded. I recommend access by boat. Acces by car is for fit persons. You leave your car in a parking paying 10 euro. Then you walk down to the beach about 1 km on serpentine road. And lastly you have about 350 stairs.
Going down is easy, but walking up back to the car is hard. The beach is with white pebbles, not sand like you find written online. On the beach there are no toilets and no garbage bins. Just some guys renting sunbeds for 20 euros. You can also rent sun umbrellas. They sell some drinks too. One small beer is 5 euro.
The sunset in the sea is overrated. At least when we were there on 28 August. Although there were no clouds in the sky, the sunset colours were not spectacular.
In conclusion, this highly recommended beach you should visit by boat... There are plenty cruises daily that circle the islands. You don't need to stay all day especially because of the lack of facilities. Happy travels!

Lets start with the positive things.. there are 411 pretty new stairs to access to the beach, but... to get to the stairs, you need to walk 1.2 km steep downwards new paved and ready to use road, that for no reason is closed!!! So, before you arrive, get ready to pay super expensive parking and you park the car in a field. Then, get ready for 1.2km on-foot walking. The beach by itself is probably the most beautiful one you have ever seen, but accessing there is a nightmare :( Going back to the car, the steepness of the hill is about 15%, so make sure you wear sport shoes and avoid the sun, recommended going upward is after the sunset. Will revise my review as whoever is responsible for the road decides to open it, causing joyful experience for the tourists, but not a preparation for Mount Everest winning!!!

The Water is very clean and Crystal color. The view it s excelent, but it s a hardly accesible beach. You gotta walk a lot and the road doesn t help you at all. If you re planning to go there you must bring with you the umbrella and some drinks. You have a small place where you can eat and drink some fresh juices, but it s upstairs, not on the beach. You have to climb the stairs every time you need, which is annoying. I don t know if it s worth it. I ve seen better beaches.

Going there by car was a great mistake. You can’t drive down. The road stops with a fence. You have to pay 8 euros, or take a even longer walk. After 300 meters we decided to go back. Luckily we saw the guy we paided the 8 euros and he gave them back (very friendly of him). Although the beach looks beautiful, it wasn’t worth for use to take the long road down (and up again).

BEWARE of something before you read all the reviews of how wonderful the beach is. It is astoundingly pitiful that the authorities, have built a brand new beautiful asphalt road, yet have sealed it off and force everyone that wishes to visit this beach, to walk in excruciating heat and steep hills for 1.1 km lugging all your beach wear, and then have you climb down 420 stairs. The return is just torture. It is utterly pitiful that the authorities have not come up with a shuttle service to at least bring the visitors by truck or bus or anything else, at least to the stairs area and back up again. Shame on them. Just shameful.
