Bookended by a cliff, you have to descend a steep flight of steps to reach this breathtaking beach boasting fine powdery sand and calm sapphire waters. There is a restaurant up top with staff on the beach ready to take your order and send your food and drinks down to you. Porto Katsiki is best enjoyed before noon or in the evening, as multiple large tourist boats stop by in the afternoon. Bring an umbrella as the cliff, while magnificent, offers little in the way of shade. Stay out of the restricted areas as there is a risk of falling rocks. – Tripadvisor

    Stunning beach
    This is a stunning beach, quite a long drive but a beautiful one. The scenery and smells are so good. The beach has some free parking on the side of the road, but mostly paid and now €10 a day! There are a few shops with toilets at the top with all the usual beach stuff and take away food and drink. Then fairly steep steps o to a white pebble beach. The sea is turquoise blue and a lovely temperature . It’s quite tricky getting in and out so beach shoes are helpful. There are some guys from a local restaurant taking orders for food and drinks that can be delivered to you. There’s little shade after midday so take an umbrella. The snorkelling around the torch’s is fabulous. A negative for us were the big boat trips with loud music who came and stopped for swimming but it was only for about an hour. Bit annoying and very loud. Really not needed. The walking on the pebbles was hard work and really not suitable for anyone with mobility issues . But the sea and the views are amazing. Definitely worth a visit

    Avoid going by car in high season, always beautiful from the sea
    This beach is at its best before or after high season. No sunbeds, no people, then it's really beautiful. But on the high season I feel like a sheep in a herd, so we always avoid it. But if you wanna enjoy the wooooow waters of the beach, you can always take a boat and dive right in, and the landscape is amazing from the sea! We have went with the smaller boat from Nidri, Ionian Star, and it always felt safe and professional boat to cruise with.

    The best I've seen on the island
    The best I've seen in Lefkada (couldn't get to Egremni though). Visited this one twice and stayed for the sunset as it was spectacular. The beach is long and has quite a lot of shadow until noon. Water colour is beautiful and there are lots of mini-caves at the base of the "peninsula". I recommend having snorkeling mask and fins as you can see some fish and reach rock formations where you can jump if you wish. No sunbeds on this beach so you need to bring towels and umbrella. There's a large parking up where the road ends and a bar. From there, the beach is accessible through stairs. The bridge on top of the peninsula is broken so you can't get to the tip of it.

Lovely beach, stunning waters

A beautiful beach lovely clear waters and stunning views. Little caves which you can swim into. Smallish beach, but stunning.

Beach is down a very steep slope/steps from the car park area. Car parking is expensive 10€ for the day, no hourly rate. 5€ after 3pm.

At the top of the slope there are shops selling ice creams and usual beach fair. People were very friendly and helpful. Not too busy and there was a seating area to take in the views from the top.

Getting to it was an experience. Incredibly narrow and very windy roads, hairpin corners, blind corners, single track roads on the sides of very high mountains, driving there is not for the faint hearted.

We followed the road signs to get there which took us about 20km our of our way getting there, through difficult roads. The journey back was far easier when following google maps and not the sign posts.

While we were there some tourist boats arrived and crowds then jumped off and into the sea to enjoy the clear blue water.

It’s definitely a place to get to early, to get a car park space and to trek down to the beach. The walk back up the steep slope was very long and tiring.

Not suitable for those with mobility issues.
The only toilets were at the shops, at the top of the slope down.

But for stunning views, lovely water etc, it’s perfect.

Shops are pricey it cost 25€ for 4 ice creams and drinks. (£22.60)

A scenery from a movie

Porto Katsiki ( The Goats' Port) is Lefkada's " must see"! The symbiosis of white steep rock with pristine and superclear water looks like a scenery from a movie or a dream. If you come in the morning, the rock gives piece of shadow to the beach. Upstairs, on the way from the parking area, is a bar. On the beach there is also delivery of a food, so you will not be suffering from hunger, but I would recommend to postpone it a bit and make a stop in a tavern called " Ionio", which will be on your way back to Egremni beach on your left side. Their Rabit Stifado is the best greek food I have ever tried- we had it there 3 years ago and this year we came back and they are keeping the quality!

A slice of paradise. Well worth the drive. Fotis from the kiosk saved the day, our car key got wet and he helped dry out the key and got us on our way. What an absolute legend. Porto Katsiki is a perfect spot for snokeling. Toilets are are inside the kiosks, selling snacks etc. A shower is near the first carpark. You can find free parking ob roads leading down to the beach or pay to park nearer the beach. On the way home pay a visit to the Ionio tavern to eat traditional Greek food,the soutzoukakia meatballs are phenomenal, over looking the sea at sunset.

Yes, it can be crowded, but this a long beach and you can still find a spot for you. And if you're not the type of person that lays on the beach from morning till dawn, you will find it more beautiful in the afternoon. Parking is 10 euros, after 4pm is half the price. This beach has bigger pebbles than others I've seen in Lefkada, therefore some water shoes will do wonders.
Just pause a moment and breath in the views! It's simply stunning!

Truly beautiful

Very beautiful beach, i was really impressed with the color of the water. It had the perfect temperature for swimming. Food and drinks are brought to you directly to the beach, the prices are a little bit high but considering the delivery directly on the beach it was ok. The acces in the water is all pebbles, so consider getting some water shoes. In the afternoon it is very hot and little to no shade is available. So i would recommend going very early and bringing an UV umbrella! By 2pm the parking area is packed and also the beach is VERY crouded. The downside is that there are no showers and the toilets are up where the food area is. Very few trash bins in the food area and also very little shade. Overall a good experience as long as you get there early and leave when the temperature is too high.

Beautiful beach

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in June and were surprised that it wasn’t busy at all. We parked on the side of the road to avoid the parking fee and had no issues. Beach was gorgeous, very clean and the water temperature was perfect. Limited shade so bring an umbrella if needed. Nice that there’s a shop at the top for drinks / ice creams

Nice beach in on Lefkada's southwestern coast

Nice beach on the southwestern coast of Lefkada. The water is crystal clear and bright turquoise. The beach is very clean, pristine and suitable for children
However, Porto Katsiki is no insider's tip anymore, so during the day it gets more and more crowded. Also the parking fee of 10€ per day is from my point of view quite expensive.
All in all we had a really good time there and we would go to Porto Katsiki again.

Well worth a journey to get to

Absolutely stunning setting and the clearest waters I have ever seen. Be prepared to travel down a few flights of stairs to get there but well worth it when you do. We arrived at 2pm and it was very quiet plus had protection from the sun in a shady patch created by the cliffs edge.
Have read a few reviews where it mentioned 10 euro for all day parking and 5 euro for afternoon only. We were charged 8 euro to park which I suspect was either inflation or Mr parking man lining his own pockets. Regardless, a very worthwhile journey around the island to get to this place.

Parking costs 10 euros, access is via a rather steep but accessible staircase.

The beach does not have sunbeds, you must have shoes, the shade is only until 11 AM, after that the sun appears and you must have an umbrella with you
There is a bar before the stairs where you can buy food and drinks.

Avoid the dishonest restaurants!

Pretty but very commercialised beach. Restaurant at the top of the stairs, the one on the right, refused to give a bill for food or a receipt. We were vastly overcharged by the man serving and had to dispute the total. After a discussion a small amount was refunded but we were still overcharged. Through observing others, we saw that Greek people were not overcharged. Tourist rip off.
