It is a beautiful beach. Accessible via an arduous walk or by boat. Two boats leave Vathy regularly throughout the day - you have to return with the same company/boat you went out with. 10 euros for a beautiful return trip. The beach is stunning. There are umbrellas and beds to rent but you need to be there before 11am in peak summer months. The sea, sand and beach are stunning.

Absolute paradise. You've seen the photos - it looks even better when you're there. I'm not going to describe anything any more than what you've already read and seen in photos - just go there as it's amazing. It was the absolute highlight of our holiday. What we did and enjoyed it so much: we went early-ish (about 9:30 am) and the beach was empty. Only two people on the beach and one sailing boat anchored there so it was super quiet. As the hours passed, sailing boats came and went but thankfully the beach remained quiet and peaceful, just not completely silent as it was in early morning. When we went (June 18th) there were no sun loungers or umbrellas and the canteen was not open but I think they were preparing to open it in the next days/weeks as we saw some work being done there as we were leaving. Try and find out if the canteen is open and if not get plenty of water with you. The trek is not challenging at all during normal conditions, but when we were leaving at around 2pm in scorching heat and after being at the beach for 5 hours, I was so thankful for having extra water with me. Take an umbrella with you if there aren't any available there as there is only very limited shade. Tip: don't sit very near the rocks as goats roam above and cause smaller or larger rocks to fall on the beach (scary). We set up straight on the water and it was bloody lovely. Also very important: try to google when the day-trip boat is on (I *think* it's Tue-Thu-Fri but not sure) as it brings people and leaves them at the beach for 3 hours, so obviously the beach gets much busier during these days. We went on a Monday by a very welcome accident, thank god we didn't leave it for Tuesday. Please please go to this beach, it'll be heavenly and you'll love it. Go early to have it to yourself and enjoy some skinny dipping. Only disadvantage was the fact that every sailing boat that arrived seemed to come complete with an annoying drone (why? just why? honestly - why?) that went bbbzzz above our heads like a giant mosquito or a ghost of vuvuzelas past. Thankfully it was only 3 sailing boats that had them, and they were not there at the beach at the same time, but I'll just repeat the question WHY? And it goes without saying that I don't even want to imagine how annoying it'll be in the middle of August on a Saturday when it'll be much much busier. So to sum up - go early, go on a non-peak day, try to avoid the day-trip boat if you can. It's a beach to be enjoyed in peace and quiet.

Places that are a bit harder to get to are usually some of the best and Gedaki Beach fits the bill.
It is possible to take a water taxi from Vathi for the afternoon but the trail is a better option. It is a very nice walk, good trail and beautiful views. The beach is outstanding with chairs and umbrellas for rent. Although a wide expanse of beach, only a few people were there and we were the last to leave about 5:00pm. There is also a snack bar offering tzatziki, Greek salads, and the best octopus I have ever had...and I went twice and had it twice. Crystal clear water, good sun, cold beer & wine...life couldn't be any better!

We loved this beach. The feeling of having earned it by the scenic and mostly shady walk from the end of the paved road at Minimata added to the experience. Only 3 other people on a lovely blue sky day though it was not peak season. Watching the waves roll on was perfect relaxation.

I admire those who go there on foot but we went there by boat. We did not spend a whole day there. Because we did not see any rentals for sunbed or umbrella. We stayed for 1 hour mostly in the sea swimming.

White pebble beach with crystal clear waters bounded by a forested cliff. The views beyond are stunning. A limited number of recliners and umbrellas widely space for those that want them (me). Nature enhanced by a Robinson Crusoe style restaurant/shack owned and run by a Greek-Australian (ex?)-hippie, his wife and three handsome sons. The the simple fare is really excellent (kalamri, octopus, salads, home cut fries etc..) as are the cocktails (mohitos etc...) and the beers are ice cold! How do they do it in such a remote location. Access to the beach is by boat-taxi or by way of a hiking trail through the pine forest. A stunning location in a very beautiful island.

Nice beach with clear green water approachable better by boat . It takes 20 minutes to get there and there are frequent boat rides from Vathy. Cost of the return ticket was 10 euros per person . Take your own umbrella with you and plenty of water as there is no beach bar. The only cons that they were a lot of sailing boats very close to the shore but besides that don’t miss it out !!!

Amazing environment. A beach crated by repeated landfalls over the years. The water is very clean and the beach is protected by the south and east winds. Very close to Vathy reachable by boat. Be careful not to stay close to the land falls since you never know when............. the land will fall again.

A very negative review on Trip Advisor almost deterred us, but we are glad we were not deterred. We took the boat from Vathy. (It’s called Albatross Cruise Lines. It’s the blue and white wooden boat parked in the harbor. It leaves at 11 and returns 15:00.) Yes, there were some broken umbrellas and sunbeds next to a closed canteen (mid-September), but that was nothing to be disturbed by. The only real caveat is that there were only six umbrellas set up, which was not enough for all who wanted them. There is no threat from falling rock if you don’t sit under the cliffs. The beach was wide, with large white pebbles, and when we were there there only gentle waves.
