Your journey continues on to Fiskardo Kefalonia, a picturesque fishing village and the only one left standing following the catastrophic earthquake of 1953.
The next stop is on the island of Ithaki, believed to be the home of Odysseus. Here you can visit the museum, have lunch and perhaps another swim.
On the return journey the captain will take the baot inside the famous Papanikolis’ cave, where a submarine lay hidden during the 2nd World War.
The last part of the cruise takes you around island of Scorpios, otherwise known as the Onassis island. Here you will be told the history of the tragic family and there will be time for a last swim.
Return to Nidri passing the island of Madouri or Poet’s island.

From the southern end of Vathy harbour fork right passing the crystal water of Minimata beach and park where the made road finishes. If there is space turn you car there so you can get out easily. Follow the dirt road and then path down to a narrow stip of pebbles that so Skinnos beach where a swim is delightful. Walk to the end of the beach and fork left. Follow the path up through the pines until you reach a T junction and go right this will lead you to the beach. The path is at times stony and rocky, no flip flops! The sea here is amazing, the beach long and white marble stones. Sometimes there are drinks for sale but do take water as it doesn't seem to be every day.

Nice beach with clear green water approachable better by boat . It takes 20 minutes to get there and there are frequent boat rides from Vathy. Cost of the return ticket was 10 euros per person . Take your own umbrella with you and plenty of water as there is no beach bar. The only cons that they were a lot of sailing boats very close to the shore but besides that don’t miss it out !!!

Amazing environment. A beach crated by repeated landfalls over the years. The water is very clean and the beach is protected by the south and east winds. Very close to Vathy reachable by boat. Be careful not to stay close to the land falls since you never know when............. the land will fall again.

Having walked in from Vathi I arrived on a by that time deserted beach and met Despina and Nico. After a couple of tiniest I promised to come back the next morning bringing my spouse. They had heard it all before. Following day first words from Despina on seeing me "I don't bloody believe it" . Such a lovely Aussie way of welcome! I hope to revisit via bareboat first week July 2019. I await with anticipation the same welcome and a fab fish lunch. My grown daughters to join me at the table. There is no reason to find Ithaca other than the desire of discovery.

Stopped here for a swim on a Five Island Cruise. The water is amazingly clear. Down side is the beach is pebbles, so wouldn’t want to sunbathe on a towel. It also gets very busy because of other cruise ships coming here for a stop off for swimming.
