The walk up is a lot easier than it looks. It looks like you will have to climb a mountain, but it is about 10 minutes up some uneven but not too tricky stairs... Once you're up you are free to explore the sight and...More

Great views but a bit of a trek up rocky, somewhat uneven steps...lots of steps (take water with you)! Worth it of course for the dramatic views. Best time probably late afternoon as the sun is in the right place for views looking left but...More

It was a beatiful view from there, we was after the ticket office working hour, but.. just go there, everything was open and we wouldn't have the chance to come back another day. After 19 it was great light during sunset!

Very interesting ruins of old fortress with beautiful view. Travel by car and parking very close to ruins. The way on the top isn’t difficult. I strongly recommend.

Definitely worth a climb to the top. You can make it in sandals but more robust shoes are a bonus. Something we found today was that it's closed on Mondays with a locked gate to prevent you from accessing the top. If this has been...More

It’s really worth taking the climb up there. Watch out for the road though - we went with a rental car from Moraitika and the serpentine is a bit tough to go through. Not too bad but if you’re not an experienced driver it might...More

The drive to get here from Mount Pantokrator was a bit of a nightmare as many of the roads were dirt tracks. The cafe restaurant staff at the entrance were miserable but the actual climb and views at the ruins were pretty cool. Worth it...More

It takes few minutes to "hike" up to the Angelokastro but it is well worth it. The views from Angelokastro are VERY nice. Note that there is small entry fee (2 euros).

Angelokastro is not necessarily the easiest place to get to but worth every effort just for the view. The 2 euro entry has to be one of the best value deals around and worth every cent. You really don't need to be that fit to...More

We stumbled across this castle on our way to Paleokastritsa and were amazed at how spectacular it looked from afar. We just had to climb it ! Parking was limited so get there early. We went on a Monday and it stated it was shut...More
