Very interesting, very far from traffic and main roads, and the roads towards there are right and aren’t the best but really interesting in overall and worth it.

Yes as the other reviews says the ‘acropolis’ is now a pile of rubble but it’s so worth it for the amazing views.
You can park easily along the road then it’s a rocky path to the top only taking 10 minutes (lose rocks so trainers best) then head right through the rubble for the most amazing views over Sami and the coast line, really beautiful.

If you are visiting here it would pay to do some Google research as the site has a very interesting history but limited information at the actual site. The walk from the car park does not have disability access and could be challenging for those who are not reasonably fit. The views from the top are excellent. We were fascinated by the very ancient olive trees in the area - some must be many centuries old. If you are in the area its worth a visit but its not as impressive as are the numerous other classical sites in Greece.

This is a lovely place. High over Sami and with a beautiful view over the bay. Some wonderful old olivetrees can be seen here.

Whilst the long some parts dangerous trek at time’s seem pointless and the acropolis little more than a pile of rubble some of the views are stunning on a clear day

There is not a lot to say about the Acropolis other than the fact that you can get some good views and the countryside surrounding it is attractive. The Acropolis itself requires considerable imagination and could be taken to be a pile of rubble!

Not the most atmospheric places to go.

Went here a couple of years ago with my son as the wife did not fancy the steep climb in the car, well it was worth it for the views and tranquility.

I really enjoyed the drive up to this ancient site through hillside woods, but when you've walked up to the site the views across to Ithaca are amazing. The size of some of the stonework in the few remaining walls is astonishing... like that in the Cyclopean Walls elsewhere on Kefalonia. When we were there the White Asphodels were thrusting up from their bulbs and bursting into flower... lovely!

There are several area’s to park on the road and then a 10-15 min walk up to the remains of the acropolis. The size of some of the stones used in the construction of the place are enormous, I’d love to know how they cut, moved and worked with them. There are also great views from the site.

Though there is an information board on the site, I felt that so much more could have been made of the site by providing more details around the structure archeological finds on the site etc. to bring it more to life.

We hired a scooter to explore so went up to the top of the mountain, and then walked around the site, its a bit of a hike (it was a really hot day!) but the views are incredible. Worth the effort.
