Worth seeing

Amazingly cool medieval abandoned castle/monastery on the top of Parga. It's free, just go and see it. Lovely view of Parga too.

The Venetian Castle sits on a rocky hill overlooking the the bay of Parga on one side, and Valtos Beach on the other. As the Castle is high up, there is a steep climb up the narrow alley way from the harbour behind the shops and bars of the harbour front. There are lots of craft and souvenir shops along... More

Great place to explore, and a nice café/bat at the top, we had drinks and ice creams while enjoying the views

From the hill of the castle you have a great view of both the city and Valtos beach, in the castle there is a small bar that serves drinks and some snacks. The biggest drawback is the number of musquito's (at least in september) so if you want to come, prepare for this with some spray or long pants.

Its a beautiful castle in the city of Parga, accessible on foot from the port (one has to climb a lot of stairs though) or by car for an easier access. Again one has to walk a little bit, but its easier and closer. The view is great, especially by night when the little island across the beach is lighted.... More

Worth the walk up to have a step back in time and for the views. There is a nice coffee bar type place to sit and have drinks and snacks.

Definitely worth the walk up to the castle to appreciate the views and overall view of Parga and Valtos beach beyond. Some lovely looking bars and restaurants on the way too.

We've been going to Parga for 7 years and always do the climb up to the Venetian Castle at least twice. The climb up the steps through the Old Town can be tough if you have mobility problems but you can sit and rest at intervals and there are a number of shops to browse in to break the steep... More

You can walk through the small, crowded alleyways and shops to reach the top of the castle. There are plenty of bars and cafes along the way to sustain you and there is a lovely indoor.outdoor pizza restaurant at the top for lunch or dinner with amazing views all across the bay. The castle is very interesting and there are... More
