We were here last summer and in a hot day it is very recommended to swim in this cold river in the middle of some beautiful mountains.

Took a guided trip to Acheron River and it was great! Being there, combined with the ancient history of the place was very exciting. Remember good walking shoes if talking the walk along (IN) the river. Very difficult to walk in. Great experience!

It is possible to spend a (couple) of minutes on the river. It is very short, not really funny. Maybe only with very young kids.

If you're traveling in the area, do bring your own canoe if you can, you will not regret it! It's a great place for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling too!

Walking up and down the river was amazing and refreshing. We walked and swimmed (at least 2 times) and passed the first 2 bridges. After that we stopped for swimming and then stared our return. The water is cold but you get used to it. Sport shoes or special ones for water sport is a must.

Absolute amazing experience, the whole area was breathtaking! The river has the most clear and blue waters we've ever seen. We managed to cover a large part of the river and I was even brave enough to have a swim. An exhilarating experience that made our holiday for us.
