Sivota, Parga & Acheron River

1 review
One of the most beautiful, as well as known through the Greek mythology, points of Epirus, is Acheron river. There, we will learn the history of the river, in ancient Greece and the souls that crossed it with the boat of Charon to arrive to the underworld. Also we will visit Sivota, to explore the beautiful beaches that remembers you how the paradise looks.

A great beach, with pine trees up to waves! You can try snorkeling, go to the adjacent beach on the right (north) and at the islet in the middle of the beach. Definitely a go! The road is paved and you should follow the signs after Ammoudia (if you go to the south). Do not use google maps.

Beautiful beach, crystal clear water, good snorkelling. DO NOT follow your Sat Nav to get there as it will take you to the middle of nowhere down a dirt track!! We ended up using Google translate with some local farmers to find the way!

Small cove, sandy seach, crystal clear waters. What more could one want? Oh yes, peace. Fortunately the beach bar has retreated to the back and there are no sunbeds and umbrellas occupying the beach. The music from the bar comes straight from the '90s club scene😒 but it's not so loud. The people though, leave rubbish behind them.

We were here two years ago and this year. Two years ago was a quiet place, despite of the beach goers. The bar was ok, music was quiet, we spent hours in the bar under the sun shade. This year I think the bar owner decided to focusing more on the young people who visiting this beautiful place, the music was much louder, you can hear it in all the beach. I was with my family, so we chose rather the Scala beach nearby. Shame because this is one of the best beach around. Good for snorkeling and you can jump from the cliff at the bay’s entrance.
