Daytrip to Symi so we had to come somehow to the most beautiful beach on the island, St George.
The beach way is either to rent a boat for 100 Euro (+ gas) or take a water taxi. You will find many boats that offer such a service, all at the main harbor of Symi and next to each other. Prices are pretty much the same.
We picked one with less people and we were not disappointed. We came in about 20-25 minutes to the beautiful beach of St George and we paid just 10 Euro per person for the way to the beach and back.
We were picked later from the beach and brought back so everything was uncomplicated.
For daytripers a good idea.

About €9 each return from Gialos - we went to Asia Marina (brilliant taverna there) - taxi went at 10am and then again 11-12. There were two return options from our beach 15.15 & 17.15 so you can't exactly hop on and off to visit other beaches. Maybe this is the case in the height of the season. Taxi boat was on time and was the main carrier by the looks of it. There was another option at Gialos port but we didn't use it.

Is it possible to get a water taxi from Symi to Rhodes? We have a connecting ferry at 6pm from Rhodes to Fethiye (June). The main ferry timetable doesn't link to our connection.

At age 70, I generally wile away my days in the Bars & Cafes of the Harbour area
but I thought my ' Beach Boys' days were over ! But on my annual pilgrimage to the island of SYMI, I found new life in the old dog yet ! During my 6 day stay (July 2018) I chose a different beach destination each day, from Mon - Thur. On the Gailios quayside, there a half a dozen "Boat Taxi companies vying for your custom. I did not complete the "set", but am reliably informed ALL the locally owned firms are excellent.
I visited the beach destinations of NIMBERIO, St Georges, St Nicholas & NANOU but will have to return, next year, to complete the set. Every day the services start at 10:00 am & start the return runs at 15:00 hrs until last boats set off back around 19:00 in high summer. If you are really up for it, "The Posidon" Adventure boat visits 5 destinations each day (changes made for each day of week) & for 35'ish Euros provides, an 8 hour extravaganza, of swimming, sun batheing, along with, in moderation, an ample supply of liquid refreshment & and finish with a faboulous beach based, freshly cooked, BAR-B-Que to make the day complete .
Beware....a Word of warning !!! The Goats are food Thieves !! (Ha, Ha)
Costs, average 8 euros for return trip...an absolute bargin. Other alternative acces to the islands beaches, include walking, road taxis & Bus Services. May I add that "Water-Sports", eg Jet Skis , windsurf, etc were NOT in evidence. Rhodes (IXIA) is the centre for these more energetic brach activities. Feeding the Goat's, Rule !

Our great summer holidays on Symi Island wouldn't have been the same without Constantinos, Anna and her husband - the humble and generous owners of the Symi Taxi Boats - Panagia Ipakoi. Appart of kindness, punctuality in service ( this boat will never miss any of their passengers ), security on board and care for children, and answer to any of your questions, they are simply the best on the island! One hint: When you arrive on the island of Symi, you have choice between them and one other company, very marketing oriented. We felt more secure and more taken care of, when we travelled with Panagia Ipakoi, as the boats where never overcrowded and captains are experienced ( Constantinos is a cruiser helmsman ), not to say that in the other company people are treated just like numbers - don't be duped by the flashy orange colour - go for the blue, because the blue is the true one! Practical advice: The Symi Taxi Boat is situated in the harbour of Symi, you can access it either on foot from where you stay, or by local taxi. Panagia Ipakoi is across the street form the Mediterraneo Café - absolutely the best cup of coffee you can get on island. Enjoy your trip :)

We are in Symi for a few weeks and use the Symi Taxi to get to the beach most days. The Team are professional and very friendly, always have a great welcome each day. The boats are in great condition, freshly painted and well maintained. They are punctual and make sure they don't leave anyone behind!
Fully recommend traveling with them.

From making an inquiry to returning from Agia Marina I was truly impressed with the reception from Anna, an extremely professional Lady who sells without pressure. I booked and paid and she directed me to a nearby cafe for excellent coffee. The boat is modern, spotlessly clean, professionally driven and assistance given to those who are still finding their sea legs well into their golden years. Highly recommend this company and the trip to Agia Marina.

Terrified of water, not a fan of public transport, but the places they take you are well worth it! Great value, very safe, would boat again!

Spent 7 days in Symi and 5 of those days we caught the water taxi out to different islands.
Friendly and helpful operators that run a family business. Very comfortable and not over crowded. Will definitely use again when we return to Symi.

The Taxi Boat is the easiest way to get to the lovely beach at Nimporios - in my opinion, the most charming of them all. Great service, always friendly and on time.

I'm trying to find out if it is possible to get a water taxi from Symi to Rhodes as it seems the ferry only leaves late in the day and I would like to arrive back in Rhodes by mid afternoon at the latest?

Hello,
I’m planning to take a boat from Rhodes to Panormitis then Symi in September alongside my fiancée. We’re also planning to spend a night at Symi. So do you guys recommend that I reserve a ferry online? (Kindly note that I searched so much to book such ferry and I couldn’t find other than daily trips only)
Or can I easily reserve some boat taxi there on the spot?
Thank you
