At some time restoration was started but was given up and the paid visit stopped so you can visit the site for free and that is good as the visit isn't worth any money. Except for some nice views over the country side there is no value in visiting the site. Zero information about purpose, history, architecture... nada... nothing... zilch...

Kritinia Castle worth the ride! It is free and not crowding. Once you reach the top of the castle you can admire a beautiful view on the see and small islands. Ruins are impressive. I only wish we got more information. There is a bar just next to the entrance. Price are attracting, kind waiter in a typic atmosphere.

The castle is actually in ruins at the moment so not a lot to see inside unfortunately. The view of the surroundings is exquisite though and worth the small trek up the steps. A fantastic historical monument. The castle it self is mostly in ruins, but from the road it still looks impressive, and it is an amazing viewpoint when you make it to the top. It is quite easy accessible even if there is a few stairs to climb. We where lucky to run in to an annual medieval festival organized by... More

Well worth a stop if your out driving past, coaches are unable to get up the road to the castle so not very crowded, the view when you reach the castle are breathtaking, also there is a gorgeous little Taverna/cafe at the car park for a refreshing drink or two.

First we drove past it, but saw the sign and turned around and followed the narrow sandy road up. There are never much people because the road is too small for tour buses so only rental cars on the parking lot. The castle is a ruin, but beautiful. The view from up there is amazing and if you know a... More

The view alone is worth the climb. And the stairs. It is a ruin, but one that has seen great battles! Tip: on your way back, follow signs to Johnny's taverna, and you will end up at a perfect bay with a lovely restaurant! Trust me!
