Chora is worth od visit: on a hill, with charmy streets, houses, yards. And the monastety. It's 2.5 km from Apocalipsis (Relevation) cave.

The walk up from Skala is a challenge in the heat, but you can get a us or hire a scooter. Chora is a maze of white-painted alleyways and steps, with vibrant bourgainvillia cascading over walls, and stunning views across Patmos to the sea on...More

Lovely walk up to Chora on the 'old' cobbled road. Quaint whitewashed houses and narrow alleyways. Some good shops and restaurants. Quiet (very few tourists on mid-June). Monastery is lovely and the museum has some wonderful old artefacts.

Despite the tourism, Chora still stays a beautiful island village. Most of the house have kept their character, the arcades, the streets, the paths, the churches, the view from all sides of it... you can walk for hours and shoot hundreds of photos. I strongly...More

The city as a fairy tale ... beautiful narrow streets in which you can be lost but also found, I recommend to anyone who loves the past and travel through time ...

It's a bit of a steep climb to get to the Chora, but the view makes it worthwhile. It's also the way to the Monastery. There a several restaurants and a gift shop. The streets are very narrow, mainly used by people and motor bikes.

We LOVED Chora-- it's like stepping back in time. Beautiful scenery, classic architecture, incredible food. IT has a vibe and feeling so special to Patmos. Don't tell too many people about it!

We found Chora to be fascinating and easily got lost in the maze of narrow white streets. We were there in the morning when no cruise ships are about and would recommend that as the best time to go if you want a quiet visit....More

One of the most picturesque sceneries in Greece the Chora of Patmos is magnificent during sunset. With attention to detail, great view of the island with cute shops and few but nice restaurants and bars. My reco is Vaggelis for dinner and Astivi for drinks.

Chora huddles at the feet of the magnifiscent Monastary of Saint John. Steep streets, narrow alleyways, quaint shops with everything from the ordinary tourists knick-knack to beautiful artisan work. There are very nice restaurants to be found, too, typically with the very simple and extremely...More
