An amazing day trip to the Volcano, it was great. Strong smell of sulphur as you approach then a walk down into the crater. Bubbling mud and steam rising it was a truly great visit. We then got the bus up to the a village right at the top of the island for great pictures of the crater. I really... More

Approximately an hour by boat from Kefalos harbour 15€ per person, you arrive in the small port of Mandraki and board a minibus costing 6€ each return which drives you up the winding roads to the top of the volcano and then down into the crater, the landscape is awesome. The bus drops you at the visitors entrance (4€ per... More

I have never been to a volcano before and was very impressed with the size and the fact that you can get right down inside of it. There is a shop along with information and photographs showing the history of the volcano

I went to the volcano though a forgotten trail from Nikia village which lasts about an hour. Getting down from there you get breathtaking views of the volcano crater. To find the trail follow the red dots on the boulders or ask somebody from the village. Ideal is to start around 6:30 pm. After the descending walk you are rewarded... More

Excellent co-ordination between ferries & buses, just the right time to go into the volcano, discover the fumes, take photo, have a drink... A great time !

This tour was part of our boat trip excursion. Once on Nisyros we would get the bus to the valcano and thats not for the light hearted, narrow roads in places and a massive drop with not many barriers. Wear good trainers because the ground in the volcano will get hot under your feet in certain places.

We did a tour of nisyros and the volcano, our tour guide was lovely and knew pretty much everything about everything! The volcano didn't interest me at all, it's basically a hole in the ground but my friend thought it was great! So if you are interested in that kind of thing I'm sure it will be a good trip!
