Very nice clear waters

The beach is very small and today came 5 big ships to Chalki. There are 2 beaches that are easy to access, the other one is near the port so attracts more people.
You can reach the beach with a water taxi (5 Euro fee per person) or you can walk the quiet street. The second way requires stamina but it is definitely worth it as you can take brilliant pictures of the mountains and the whole way (about 2km) is very quiet.

The beach has a taverna and a bar, the seabeds cost 3 Euro per person or nothing if you eat at the taverna.

The water is really nice.

Sunbathing & much more with our friends in Greece.
Jul 2021
We were blessed to be able to visit the beautiful island of Chalki and in particular our friends at Kania Beach, Garyfalia, Panayotis, Klydi and the rest of the team. Wonderful beach experience with sun beds & parasols. Taverna on the beach (with two dining areas) serving fantastic authentic Greek cuisine with specials available on most days. This year I became hooked on shrimp saganaki (for shrimps read generous sized prawns!) so tasty I had to ration myself :). Looking forward to seeing our friends (they now insist we are family and that we should treat Kania as “Our House”) we are always very sad to leave at the end of our holiday so can’t wait to return. Don’t go to Chalki without going there!

Excellent food and a paradise location

Excellent seafood at a fantastic location.

Coming with the ferry from Kamiros Skala, we took a taxi boat to the beach. The water was cristal clear. It is a pebble beach but the access to the water is good. As we arrived early, sunbeda at the shoreline were available. The atmosphere is an easy going one. We had swordfish as a course which was simply amazing! Fresh and grilled to perfection. The side dishes also showed lots of focus to taste. Definitely coming back to this small paradise!

After many years visiting Halki we know where we like to be and we make a bee line for Kania. A most beautiful bay with crystal clear water which we reach on foot. The walk over is one of our Halki highlights. You can take the mini bus or now the new taxi boat service run by Garifalia's dad Gianni.
You'll receive a warm welcome from Garifalia and Panniotis, who always offer us a lift when they pass us as we walk, which we refuse but they do take the rucksack!
The taverna provides excellent food in a lovely setting and the prices are very reasonable. If you eat at the taverna the sunbeds are free, otherwise they are six euros each.

Crystal clear waters

but a very small stretch of beach. However if you like swimming, there’s plenty of room to do so away from the beach. Can be rather exhausting walking there for so little when it is very hot.

Personalised service
Aug 2020
I do not think that I have been to a beach taverna where the food was consistently superb before. The staff worked very hard and gave a very personal service. They remembered my name after only one visit and knew where we liked to be on the beach and what we liked to drink. They all wore masks and maintained social distancing. The facilities were kept very clean.

Walked to the beach from the port area. The beach itself is nothing special in my opinion it’s very small . It’s dominated by a bar , the service there is good and the staff are really friendly but the beach was packed when I was there , no room for the people coming in the boat , sun loungers 3 euros though so that was reasonable. Not a place I would go back to at all apart from the taverna which was really nice

The "FREE SUNBEDS", shown everywhere on posters were 12€.
They informed us, only after we had our coffee served. It's free only if you eat in the restaurant (coffees don't count).

Apart from that, it's a small rocky beach with many sunbeds (despite the COVID situation).
You can visit by boat or by bus.

It’s another day for you and me in paradise!

Phil pretty much summed it up in a few words of his song lyrics!
Please be aware it seems there are two trip advisor sites for Kania beach, the other is simply called Kania? Combined they have almost 400 reviews and between the two they are deserving of their excellent status. It’s a must visit, the beach is amazing, the small bay has crystal clear waters. The food served is excellent, the service is always with a smile, the prices are very good also. You almost don’t want to tell people how nice it is! so you can have it all to yourselves! We maybe slightly biased in that last July 2018 my wife and I were married on the beach here and it was a fantastic day. Garafalia and her husband are truly dedicated to their visitors and their vision of a relaxing experience.
I read with interesting review of kania beach recently that suggests the owners are greedy and that they have spoiled a corner of paradise!!
The sun beds/ parasols are provided to Kania beach guests free of charge! They could easily charge 12/15 euros a day- but hey they don’t- it’s free. So having slight difficulty in understanding how they could be deemed greedy? They actually invest some of their profits back into ensuring guests comfort. Garafalia, her father and her family, toiled for a long time to make Kania beach what it is today, something special! For that I thank you for all your hard work. Hope your years ahead are filled with good fortune and guests who appreciate your hard work.
