First visit to Agios Nikolaos and won’t be our last. Weather fabulous, lots to see and do. Visit Spinalonga, a must do boat ride. Restaurants really well priced. Went to Almiros Beach, beach bar sold delicious toasties at a reasonable price. Also attended the local football match, the Greeks made us very welcome.

Beautiful beach. Sunbeds and umbrella €8. Karpassion is a beach bar close by with an excellent Greek salad! They also have Friday night parties (only saw the ad, did not attend). Shower on the beach, WC in beach bar. Waves depending on wind, quite shallow waters. We also hiked up the Paleokastro (the hill overlooking the beach with an old village).

I went to this beach 6 times out of the 11 days I was on Karpathos. It's about 35 minute drive from Pigadia, on the west side of the island. The beach is very sandy, and you must walk a ways in the water before it starts to come up to your chest. I would get there late morning, and it was not crowded. The sunbed and umbrella was 5 euro, and it is a very clean, organized beach. The was always a nice breeze, and some waves, and the water was warm. On a couple of days, it was a little more windy, and the waves were a bit to big to go swimming.

We visited this beach two times during our stay and it really impressed us both times. Second time it was windy with huge waves and we were drifting towards the rocks on the right but got away without trouble
