    Stunning Village
A truly stunning village, picture postcard, white sugar cube buildings with blue dooms on the church, even a Cave House. Much nicer than Oia or Fira I would say a bit more typical Greek. Fabulous taverna too and views, nothing not to like!

    Must visit in Santorini
Really charming town that is quiet and hustle free. Megalochori maintains that traditional village feel done in a splendid way. There are beautiful blue dome churches scattered about and plenty of winding staircases that will test your knees. A must go to destination if you are in Santorini.

Relaxing Lunch at Megalochori, Santorini, Greece
Truly not many things to see or interesting places to visit except the town center. Good for a relaxing lunch which was what I did after visiting Pyrgos in the morning. Enjoyed a good lunch at the Olio Restaurant.

Pretty village with atmosphere and great restaurants
We loved Megalochori and enjoyed wandering around the village. The parking was a bit of a problem but we found a car park which was a 7 minute walk away from the main square. There were lots of nice traditional restaurants and a nice square. I would go back again next time I go to Santorini.

Highlight of Santorini Trip even with Cloudy Weather
This town was such a surprise. Our hotel and guide both told us to walk there but they "underplayed" how nice this town was!! This town was a highlight of our time in Santorini even on a cloudy day with "tornadic winds." The stores were interesting and not quite as touristy as other towns. Highly recommend.

    Wow!
Stayed at Caldera Dolphin Suites in May. Absolutely beautiful setting. Excellent accommodation. Staff are some of the best we have met on holiday. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and kind. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary while we was there and was greeted by a bottle of wine and plate of lovely fruit in our room. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely sunsets. I cannot say enough about this beautiful place & people. Don’t hesitate to visit, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! Just would like to thank everyone there for making our stay so special. John & Jo

Go to Alisachni beautiful Art Gallery!!!
Nice little village. The Best was to visit Alisachni art gallery (beautiful art at a very good price). Natassa the artist and Eleni took time with us to tell us about the artworks of different great artists, including Natassa. We also visited 2 other art galleries, one with wood artworks owned by Michael. Great moment and unexpected expenses ;)

My favourite village in Santorini. Small, hidden, quiet, not crowded and car-free. You better park outside the village because the roads are very very narrow. It is well kept, and while is not directly on the sea, there are some good views.
Lot of restaurant in the plaza but if you want a more traditional experience walk a bit further and look for the tavernas.
They are hidden but offer fantastic value.

Santorini has so much to offer as a holiday destination and it was lovely to find an authentic, traditional Greek village to wander around and grab a bite to eat. We drove through the village but would recommend parking at either the top or bottom car parks as the roads are extremely narrow and it felt wrong to be driving though it. This village is quintessentially Greek and definitely worth a visit (on foot!).

We walked from FIra to Megalochori, there is a bus but we decided to walk, it took us about 1.5 hours and wasn't too hilly and steep. Such a beautiful little village, we entered from behind the bakery on the main road through a car park and turned into a tiny tiny street. It is very traditionally Greek and only one of two tourists having a look around. We stopped for coffee at a little cafe and the locals were all very friendly. There is a bell tower that straddles the street and if you follow the road down you can go into some caves, these a e unlit so you'll need the torch on your phone! You eventually get to a little square with a few restaurants and jewelry shops, Take you time and look at the blue domed church and wonder the tiny side streets. Worth doing to get to see a traditional Santorini village.

My tour guide figured that I liked traditional stuff when away so made a quick pit stop so I can see this village, of course it wasn’t traditional as there were so many tourists. Worth seeing though. Alpaca restaurant called Raki here is good .

We decided to visit the village because of the various positive reviews. The village has free parking at the top. Once you park you walk down a hill into the village where you will encounter some shops and restaurants. The village does not have any sea views so it did not temp me to stay for lunch. The longish climb back up to the car in the heat without a breeze was not real fun. Bring water because you will need it.

We found this little village accidentally as we were driving around the island with our quad.
Really deserves a stop !! Nice little streets to walk around, typical restaurants, less tourist than anywhere else.
If you want to enjoy a typical Greek ambiance and not crowdedness this is the place to come.

This was a beautiful village. It was a lot quieter than Oia. I think my biggest regret about my time in Santorini was trying to do and see too much in one day. Our tour walked us through Megalochori and told us about it as we went, but we didn't have much time to explore, shop, or eat there. It is worth stopping and enjoying some time here.

I’m glad we visited this charming little village. It isn’t highly commercialized “yet.” Which adds to its charm of remaining a quaint little village. There are a few restaurants & only a couple of shops. The entire length of the village is probably only 400-500 yards. Making for a nice walk easy walk. Ladies, I’m sure you’ll enjoy 1 shop in particular, which specializes in purses/bags made out of “cork.” My wife & others in our group walked away with one of these unique purses, bags, etc. Several of us stopped @ one of the Main Street cafes, to enjoy a cappuccino, latte, glass of wine or beer. Simply to relax & enjoy this nice small village! Make sure to visit the cave, open @ no cost by the property owner. Interesting to say the least.
