We had rented a four wheeler to drive around the island and made our way here one afternoon. Small streets with great places to take some photos and take in the local architecture. If in the area would certainly recommend a visit

we stopped here on a tour and the end of season it was very quiet, but a lovely village, very picturesque, lovely views, worth going to see.

Great efforts seem to have been made to try to keep this village as traditional as possible. It's got many narrow cobbled streets, lots of floral displays and a charming village centre wth a couple of bars and restaurants and a few shops. The layout...More

A very nice, traditional village of a kind You might not expect to find on otherwise busy Santorini. Lots of genuine achitecture:belltowers, churches, cavehouse, nice Tavernas. Symposion by La Ponta has moved here!

Six of us stayed in Megalochori, and none of us regretted the choice of location. Quaint town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and wineries. Definitely more relaxing than staying in Fira or Oia (and less expensive), and whether using taxis or the bus (surprisingly efficient...More

This is the quiet side of the island. Less crowded. excellent for walking and exploring. Get a ride over here and then explore. A bit touristy but much less so than the main town. Nice local eateries. Friendly people. This is where the locals live....More

Such a wondetful little village with great decoration, well maintained. Cosy restaurants and bars. There you really live the typical Santorini atmosphere Belonging to a traditional village. Take the chance and enjoy the " heart of Santorini"

I don’t think that time will allow an Oia sunset I’m afraid. The length of time you are in santorini will not allow you to see and do everything that’s well worth seeing and doing. I can make some suggestions if you want to... More
