We visited the Kouros at "Apollonas" (North-East of the Island). It is definately worth visiting. His foot is taller than a man!!!! Apollonas also has a small beach and many nice taverns. Very picturesque!

Visited on a hot but breezy afternoon with 4 kids between 4 and 7 yrs old. The hikes to both kouros was interesting and diverse enough to keep kids and adults entertained. The explation on the board was very useful and got the kids attention....More

It's so incredible to be able to stand immediately next to something so ancient. And the view is wonderful from where this is located. The town is very nice too.

It's interesting in that the stone would be roughly shaped into the desired form before shipment - this reduced weight. There are a couple large statues that broke before they left the quarry and were left behind. Not exactly off the beaten path - ours...More
