This whole coastline between Glyfada and Pyrgaki is dotted with little secluded coves. There were several days that we drove the little dirt road and pulled off to find our own private cove for the morning, some sandy, some rocky, but all with crystal clear water.
Our favourite was Emanuel’s beach…. Ssshhhh, don’t tell anyone!

This is a lovely beach, a bit rocky while getting into the water, but the beach itself is sandy. It is located about 20 km south of the Chora on the western side of the island. There are some services here, namely a nice little restaurant named Notos and a mini-market next door. And one can rent a chaise longe for the day under an umbrella. Nonetheless, this is a very quiet beach and the water is much warmer and calmer than at nearby Alyko beach.

We had lunch at the Notos Restaurant and sat at table under the trees with a lovely view of the beach. Service was friendly and the food was good.

During the month of June we spent almost a week in Pyrgaki. We stayed at Psili Ammos - wonderful lodgings and taverna which I have already reviewed. Every day we spent several hours across the street at Pyrgaki Beach. This is a beautiful, clean beach. We enjoyed swimming, walking on the beach and sunbathing. During our stay there were very few people on the beach - an added bonus. It is well worth a drive to enjoy the beach at Pyrgaki - then go across the street for something to eat and drink!

This was pretty and large beach. When we arrived there were only three other people and they eventually left, so we had the entire place to ourselves. It is a nice swimming beach too. Not too rocky and it gets deep quickly so you can swim right away when you enter. We visited in mid-September. I'm sure an August day would be a lot different as far as the crowds.

A very large and beautiful sandy beach, mostly "uncontaminated" by human presence.
The only drawback was that it was extremely windy and there were very few sunbeds and umbrellas, therefore it was a bit difficult to find a place to stay comfortably (there are a few trees, but mostly on one side of the beach).

The other beaches may have higher ratings but this is the best family beach hands down. The main section with umbrellas is all sand all the way into the waters, which are sparkling clear a very shallow entry. Best swimming we enjoyed on the island and a cafe across the street that comes to your chair...Agios Prokopios has a bigger crowd and Plaka has nudists (and lots of rock at the entry point in most parts) if that's your thing, but this was far and away the most enjoyable beach. Wish we had found it sooner.

This is a calm and beautiful beach! I stress calm because September has been very windy. Calm blue water! There are around 50 sets of umbrellas and chairs you can rent for 5 euro which is best deal I have seen. This is a top 2 beach on whole island. Chad

Amazing!! You have the feeling of being on a deserted island. Only about 10 umbrellas set-up so it is very secluded. Best beach for children as well. You can let your kids run around all day, and you won't be worried about them.

Quiet, very few people, no pebbles beautiful sand with gently slope in sea. The surrounding sand dunes and headland protect the beach from the wind and are good to explore. We stayed at the Psilli Ammos studios for 5 days and used the beach daily. The sea was clean and warm, even in June. There are 10 sunbeds and umbrellas which can be rented from the restaurant at the back of the beach for 5 euros a day. The restaurant is also very handy if you would like food and a drink. Once used you will return, it's excellent.

Pirgaki beach is a long sandy, clean beach with clear blue water in a very quiet and peaceful area. This is a place where you come to, if you want to have some time out. The beach does't offer shadowing trees but the nearby taverna (50m from the beach) rents some umbrellas and sunbeds. If you need a real break from the sun you can get delicious traditional greek food at the taverna with an outstanding seeview! For those who want to stay longer, the taverna also offers studios for rent.
There is only a sandpist leading to this beach so you have no annoying cars or traffic around.
