We love Naxos for so many reasons. Soft sandy (not rocky) beaches with clear water is one of the main reasons. Plaka certainly is one of the best we visited on our greek vacation. The beach was populated but not overcrowded as there is much...More

This is a large, lovely beach. We were there at the end of the season, so we were able to explore the beach without any crowds and collect the beautiful seashells from the sand.

We rented bicycles €10 ea/ day from Harris rental and enjoyed an easy 7k cycle to Plaka Beach from Naxos town. Weather was fantastic and we spent four hours soaking up the sun and braving the cold water- only joking it was great when we...More

This beach just goes and goes... beautiful clear blue water... plenty of space... good variety of beach bars and restaurants just off the sand. Some are more expensive than others for sun beds and umbrellas. We found a couple for around $10€ and it actually...More

The water is so beautiful and very clean. A little more nudity than I expected. They have beach servants ice so you can order food and drinks from the comfort of your lounge chair. A short distance with the great bus service.

Naturist Beaches in Naxos (9 Replies)
I’ve read many times in other forums that there parts of Plaka beach are naturist (or nude) beaches, but I can’t seem to find where these parts are. So, is it true that some parts are naturist and if so, does anyone know specifically which portions?

Beach area just before you come to Maragras camping is for naturists. There is a sheltered cove just below the rocks as you come over the hill from Agia Anna and most naturists use this spot.

Hi, you've put your question on the 'all of Greece' forum. You may do better asking on the specific forum for Naxos but in the meantime have a look at this previous post on the subject https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g189…

Fellow Naxos fans who have also visited Mykonos.... (4 Replies)
We visited Naxos last year - spending two idyllic weeks at Medusa on Plaka beach. Trying to decide where to go this year - we are a family of 4 (kids aged 8 and 12) and require a sandy beach, walkable distance to handful of tavernas and either self catering apartment or small family run hotel. We need to travel in August so obviously in high season we are unlikely to get beach to ourselves! But what we loved about Plaka was that you could wander and find yourself a relatively quiet spot. ...More

I guess that's a "no" then!!!! We have decided to travel on to Tinos now instead but are still going to have a night in Mykonos to ensure return flight isn't missed so any ideas of places to spend some time would be gratefully received in the same vein as my original request :)
