About
Enjoy an off-grid vacation at the island’s longest uninterrupted beach. The crystal clear waters make it a great spot for swimming, and as the amenities trail off in the south, there are quiet sections of beach for you to relax in solitude. It's also a popular spot for nudists. It gets busy during summer so visit during the shoulder seasons between May to June, or September to October. If you want a little more beach fun, the neighboring Maragas Beach brims with beach clubs, hotels, restaurants, and water sports facilities. You can try to spot Plaka Beach on a sailing tour of Naxos. – Tripadvisor

    a beautiful, long beach
In its central Western part, between the Chora and Agiassos further south, the island of Naxos is spoilt with great sandy beaches. With between 3-4km the longest of them all is Plaka Beach. Organised with umbrellas and sunbeds only in parts there are still large unspoilt stretches. This usually means that there is no shade, unless one finds one of the few tamarisk trees in the dunes further back. To get there I took a KTEL bus at the Chora. Going past Agia Anna Beach there was 2 minutes after Marangas a sign that Plaka Beach has started. It stops at various places here, but I got off at the final station near the Plaza Beach Hotel, where the surfaced road ends. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to get here from the Chora. Here I found end of May a lovely spot close to a mastix bush with nobody around. In this southern part of Plaka nudism is quite common. Approach into the water was easy, since it had none of the flat rocks, one encounters in other parts. A popular activity at Plaka seems to be beach walking, as I could observe.

Plaza beach walk - local bus ride from Naxos town
Catch the local bus from Naxos town to Plaka beach and simply walk along the beach. The water is crystal clear, clean and an indescribable blue, dotted with tiny islands. On our visit many places were not open, being before the high season, but very pleasant and scenic. You will find a cafe for food and drinks along the way. Well worth a visit.

Nude part of beach was so peaceful
Our first time at a nude beach and the whole scene was peaceful and not intimidating at all. The sand is a bit pebbly but the water was a decent temperature for May. The nude sunbathers pretty much space themselves out and everyone just kept to themselves, enjoying the freedom of basking nude in the sun. The large rocks on the shore were fund to climb and sit on too. We can't wait to return.

    Great value & beautiful area
Beautiful and quiet area. The accommodation is gorgeous and is excellent value. The beach is also great for water sports! Check our Plaka water sports (and their bar has the best iced coffee that I had in Greece)

    Perfect beach to relax
Clean, lovely waters, less crowded, and many cafe options around. Grab a drink & snacks to get sunbeds. Or just walk a little and find quiet places (including nudist areas) to be on your own. Easily accessible by bus. Loved it

Miles of Sandy beach with crystal clear water.
Lovely long Sandy beaches with crystal clear water, that seem to go on for ever. Clean and with plenty of sun beds (mainly attached to bars for rent) but there is also spaces for you to do your own thing too. The area goes from Plaka all they way to agios Anna. Although we didn’t use the beach in the day time, we sat in the bars across from here on the evenings for the most amazing sunset with views across to Paros.

    White soft sand beach
Such an amazing natural untouched beach. We arrived early in the morning and were among maybe 5 other people on the beach. The water was cold and crisp. Waves were gentle yet fun. There are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent but also lots of areas that you can bring your own. we spent about 3 hours on the beach leisurely watching people pass by and wind surfers gliding in the water. The sand was notably more soft than other beaches in Naxos.

Nice pebble beach with clear water
Stone beach, so you will need flip flops or water shoes to navigate into and out of the sea. The sea is cristal clear and there is a nice selection of shops and restaurants close by. €10 for 2 sun beds and parasol which is standard for the island. Parking and sun bed abailibility gets difficult after 1230 so arrive before this time.

    Beautiful Beach
We were looking for a beach to spend our last day on Naxos at. We started driving down the coast to see which one would be better. I'm glad we kept on driving until we got to Plaka Beach (although I think we were a bit further north near Maragas.) The water and beach were beautiful! We got some sun beds and enjoyed our day ordering food and going in and out of the water. We even got a massage from some ladies that were walking the beach. This was a very relaxing day at the beach.

Long, sandy beach and currently the least developed of beaches closest to Naxos Chora
After Agios Prokopios and Agios Georgios this was a surprising change, with long stretches of sand and sand dunes, a rather natural environment. A few sets of loungers and umbrellas associated with the cafes and restaurants that exist adjacent to the beach. Maybe quite busy in peak months but in September when we visited it was fairly deserted. There are developments taking place so it won't always be like this. Last stop on the regular bus service to/from Naxos Chora so you won't have trouble getting on a bus for the return to town. Choice of eating places somewhat but maybe more at the end of the beach closest to town.

For sure a very nice beach, to me the second in Naxos after Mikri Vigla. Very wide and long beach strip, a bit detached from civilization, bit with many drink and bite options. The best of it was the diversified views over the sea and the different grades of blue water colors. Shortcoming is the wind and the sunset prices - we paid €15.

This part of Plaka Beach is not crawded in September - in the time, when the other places direction Agya Napa are full of people. After corona, these ones received one more line of the sunbeds and umbrellas, so the way direction north happened unsuitable.
Opposite part of the beach is traditionally clothing optional and you can make your walk all the aproximatelly 2,5 km, you like: swimsuit, topless, completely nude.
This part of the beach has good entry to the sea without any stones under water, the sand is on the beach as well on the bed.
The price of beach set happened that year 20 euro, so many peaple (and we did so, as well) can lay on the sand between the umbrella-sections.
Recommended accomodation and tavernas near: Three Brothers, Plaka 2 and much more others.

We stayed at a lovely quaint hotel in the middle of Plaka Beach called Glaronissi Beach suites and apartments , just across from the beach. The beach is fabulous and we loved the fact parts were clothes optional.
We walked south passed the 3 brothers restaurant and before you got to Nikos and Maria apartments there were 2 rows of sunbeds and sunshades blue and beige in colour. This was a perfect spot, and handy for lunch at either the 3 brothers or Nikos and Maria restaurants. The water is superb we stayed at the beginning of July and was fairly busy , but we managed to get our same subbed every morning.
we mostly turned right at night to go to the restaurants one of our favourites was Cedar Cafe relaxed chilled out music comfy seats and a great atmosphere, there are other great restaurants along the strip the new Italian was very nice Great place to Holiday will be back

When I was planning our Croatia and Greece trip, I wanted to pick out a few places that we had never visited. I am glad that Naxos became part of our trip. Plaka Beach is fantastic. It is one of the most beautiful beaches that we have ever gone to. If you like swimming, sunbathing, water sports, or just enjoying nature’s beauty, then I can absolutely recommend Plaka Beach. We love it and the area so much that we are thinking about moving here, or having a second home here. Enjoy!!

We stayed in a villa on Plaka beach. Beautiful clear blue water and sandy beaches. Less crowded than the beaches closer to Naxos town. We were there in May when water was a little cold but that didn't stop us from swimming.

We spent most of a day here exploring the different parts of the beach. The northern end was less developed with lots of room to settle down with no one within a hundred meters.

The southern and middle sections have more Tavernas and places to rent lounges and umbrellas.

And there is an organized naturist section if that interests you.

Everywhere there is beautiful soft sand and clear blue water.

Will say, not the most relaxing day at the beach. the sand is only about 25 meters wide to the beach clubs pack people in and there is only about 5 meters between beds and water. Lots of families, lots of noise. Not what I wanted. Great for families though.
