Recently completed a week of lessons at Kite Mykonos which was super fun. Started as a complete novice...never even flown a kite before. My instructor Alessandro was excellent - super experienced, went at my pace and was incredibly patient. Helped to build confidence early on, which was important as it's a v busy spot with a lot of advanced and experienced riders which at first felt a bit intimidating. Good quality hire equipment, lots of sizes available, they took safety v seriously (including sanitizing all hire equipment such as wetsuits etc after each use). All staff friendly and incredibly helpful. What started out as something to try out while on vacay will likely be something I will do again. My advice - if you walk/drive past and see the spectacular sight of all the kites zooming across the blue water and think 'I'd love to try that'... do it !!

I have travelled a lot of the Egean kite spots. What makes this one special is the high frequency of strong wind, the Meltemi here blows at his maximum power. This is a very good spot to improve your jumping skills and top height ( the spot record is 32 meters). The guys of the school are very kind and always available for any need, spare parts, repair or for help in the water.
The water is averagely choppy except some small area closed to the rocks where you can take off better.
With 45 minutes of cruise upwind it is possible to reach little Venice with the kite and enjoy an original view of the Chora.
Kite school also organise small trips to close “secret spots”.

I had a wonderful time with Alexei and Anna at Kite Mykonos. They have a full-service wind sports facility with top notch equipment. I was focused on wing foiling and was very pleased with the Duotone wings and quality board and foil. As an advanced rider I did not need any lessons, but the team there is fully ready to provide lessons to those looking for them.
Great locker rooms to store your personal stuff while riding and a shower was also available. All you need is to get there and be ready to ride.
The wind was amazing at Korfos beach and they are located in a privileged corner of Mykonos that has perfect wind almost every day.
Can’t wait to get back.
Cheers,

I am an intermediate level kitesurfer with my own material. I had a lot of fun and I progressed a lot this week. I practiced every day with a wind speed between 15 and 30 knots. My daughter took some lessons and got the kitesurfing virus. The spot is incredible, the school is very professional with a great team. I especially appreciated the team in charge of the security on the beach. They do their best to avoid any possible accidents. I hope to come back. Big thanks to Kite Mykonos.

Kiting with this school was an utter pleasure. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I forgot my fins and the owner kindly allowed me to use his. I was also a bit nervous launching from a new beach, but the guys on the shore reassured me and gave me loads of support.
For me it’s always more about the people but the added bonus was the facilities were 10/10! Lockers, showers, a place to hang your wet stuff, an awesome shop, the works.
The only thing I’d add is a water cooler because the plastic issue in this island is heart breaking. But other than that I can’t think of anything these guys could do better.

This Kite spot in Mykonos is just great. The coaches, the services, Anna and the whole reception team, it has been all amazing. There will be a reason why they have been chosen by Duotone as an official Kite Spot!
Mykonos is windy, and this is good, overall in that gulf which is safe and sound. See you soon guys! Luca

The team at Kite Mykonos are relaxed and chilled, making for a very relaxing experience. The team made sure you were sorted with everything for kiting. The location is brilliant with near consistent kiting conditions all summer long (there is no kiting in winter as the wind is not strong enough). The gear is well maintained and is modern and up to date with the correct safety equipment. Will defiantly have to come back next time.

The spot is surrounded by electric lines and the access to the water is overcrowded most of the time, with many kites flying just by the shore (on-shore winds). There are spot rules, but they are barely announced and anyone breaking them is not really notified.
The school is a typical example of a monopoly situation. Any query with Ana at the reception takes ages to be fulfilled. I saw a few people being let in doubt for half an hour on whether they would be able to rent gear or get lessons (losing precious moments while the wind was blowing). Furthermore, I agreed on a reasonable deal for storage and facilities, but when I left, I got the unpleasant and unconstructive remark "just to let you know, you should have paid more". The services included "safety" by some beach boys, who were not really present. Most of the time, I waited long minutes on the beach with my kite in the air, while they were hanging on the couch or discussing somewhere else. Eventually some outside person would jump in and assist me landing. My advice is: if you want to kite, there are so many nice spots on other islands; go to one of them.

Dear Mr' Nicolas Gillen
You came to our spot paid 10,00 euros and used our storage and beach facilities. I remember you coming to the reception every ten minutes asking me to check the wind report or what size of Kite you should use even though there is a weather station right in front of the reception desk, while I was extremely busy trying to serve tens of people waiting at the reception to be served. Mykonos in August is EXTREMELY BUSY in case you didn't notice, and even if we had 5 people at the reception we wouldn't be able to be time efficient, and after all we are not GRECOTEL... we are a small family business in a 350m long beach!!!
I clearly recall that at the end of the day you assured me that early in the morning you would come to pick up all your gear including your surf board that was left in the middle of my shop and leave. Instead you stayed all next day at the spot using our facilities once again, which include the air compressor fresh water and three beach boys helping you non stop!!!!!! ( I saw them myself ). One of our instructors Vincent even helped you to set up your huge foil kite and also helped you land and launch it!
When you finally came to the reception in the AFTERNOON, to say that you are leaving and give you the key to the locker you had been using all day for an EXTRA DAY, I kindly told you without even forcing you to do so, that you should have paid 5,00 euro more for using the facilities all day!
You not only used our kindness and tolerance but you now return the favor of providing you every little thing you needed to make your stay comfortable for FREE, with this review!
So why did you stay an extra day kiting in our BAD spot, if you hated it so much???????????
I am really disappointed with how people can be so two faced and ungrateful!

Mykonos is a great Island.. Has so many cool hotels, bars, restaurants, beaches, shops!
But Mykonos was missing KITESURF! The best sport in the world!!! Finally the number one island on WIND conditions/statistics has a kitesurfing school in Korfos Beach!
The beach for many years used to be dirty and Kiters had nowhere to set up their kites!
But this Summer KITE MYKONOS school and kite center changed all that!
Korfos Beach is clean and has become the best spot for Kitesurfing in the Cyclades!
The services of the school and the team of instructors were great and we will go again next year for sure!

Paid €135 for an hour lesson that never got the kite off the ground. They talked for an hour and had me setup the kite. We never even got in the water or anything. I felt incredibly ripped off.

Matthew, I understand your frustration for not getting in the water from the very first hour of your training, but this is the standard procedure we follow as an IKO affiliated kite school. You need to learn first and foremost all the safety procedures, setting up your equipment and training with a trainer kite on the beach before you can move on, in the water with a big Kite. Going in the water with a large sail without going through the first part of the training seriously dangerous and we do not play around with safety in our Kiteschool. I assure you, once you continue your basic training you will be able to understand the huge value of this very first lesson! Now you cannot comprehend why it was so important for you to do all the exercises with a trainer kite before you try them with the normal size Kitesail
Actually going in the water and skipping all the training you did on the beach would be a complete waste of time and money.
But as I mentioned previously with your lack of experience is difficult to evaluate the significance of the lesson.

Naama you can rent full gear at the price of 70€ for 2 hours.
We cannot reserve the sails in August as we cannot predict if the person using it before you wont rip it... You come and you rent everything on arrival.

Do you still do lessons the first week of October
Alexandre Kuzolitz

Dear Alexandre
We are going to be here but wether the school is going to be operating or not will really depend on the weather conditions!
Sometimes up to end of October the weather is great and wind still blowing but sometimes the weather can get a bit cooler and the first rains might start appearing and therefore the wind is not as constant.. To conclude i believe there are some good chances we will be open and running at this time...I hope this helps!

Is it possible to kite on the beach without paying to the station? We have all material we need and don't really require the assistance of the stuff.
Alexandre Kuzolitz
Sao Luis, MA13 contributions
Yes of course you can!
We just kindly ask you to follow like everyone else, the rules of safety we have at our spot, so just come and talk to us so we can clarify you these simple rules.
The daily fee we charge for our facilities is 5,00€/person and that includes beach assistance, air compressor, clean water & shower, rescue boat, wind speed meter unit, wi fi & some sun beds under the shadow. If you do not need any of the above no need to pay those five euros.
Enjoy wonderful Mykonos!
