About Eco Events
We specialize in creating unique experiences, such as organizing excursions to remote traditional villages, so to give to our visitors the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their culture and habits. We invite you to witness the activities of the genuine Cretan life, such as harvesting soil and producing traditional products like wine, raki, cheese, traditional rusks, honey, olive oil... the list goes on! We always try to give our guests a warm experience, therefore most of our excursions are in small groups; that is because we value the personal feeling that mass tourism fails to deliver. Apart from daily trips to villages and natural landscapes, we give our guests the opportunity to organize a trip that will suit them 100%. By getting in contact, we can discuss and design the perfect one-day or multi-day trip for you. Therefore, we can personalize every experience depending on the taste, the wishes and the needs of each of our visitors.

We met Alia, our guide, and two other people from the US at 10.30am for our tour. We had a lovely tour, with lots of historical knowledge, as well as foodie information. There were plenty of samples along the way, raki, cheese and meats, more raki. We ended up at Ali Vafi's Garden, which was tucked away up an alley. It was lovely in the sunshine, with lemon trees for shade. Here we tried a couple of dishes and baklava bought earlier in the trip, this was washed down with a couple of bottles of wine. We sat chatting for ages. Our 4hr tour had turned into 6hrs !! Alia was lovely, you won't be disappointed if she is your guide. Definitely recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful day with Vincent, and truly enjoyed both the food, the history sessions and the company! I will truly recommend this as a nice way of getting to know Rethymno, Crete and Cretan food. Thanks!

This is a great introduction to Rethymno so we would recommend you do the Rethymno Gastronomy Tour early in your itinerary as it will give you some great ideas on how to get more value out of your time in Rethymnon. It is an easy walking tour around the old town with well-timed stops for local treats and drinks. It is topped off at the end by an extraordinarily large and tasty lunch in an outdoor restaurant, set in an historical semi-ruin, complete with stylish bar. Good Cretan wine accompanied our rolling lunch. As soon as we met our guide Kostas at our hotel, we knew we were in for a brilliant guided tour. Kostas lives and breathes Rethymno and everything about the traditional food, the culture and the local alcohol of Crete. Such is Kostas outgoing and engaging personality, you will feel like you have been embraced by true Cretan culture. An added bonus were the restaurant and bar recommendations from Kostas. Go hungry as good traditional local food just keeps coming. You won’t go hungry.

Wow! What an incredible experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable, fun, and passionate about Crete culture. I felt as if he knew everyone in Greece and he made the experience feel so personal. 100% would recommend to anyone in Crete! From the food, the conversations, to the overall experience, we couldn’t have asked for anything more!
