We did this hike during the Easter holiday. It was just the guide, my two kids and myself. The guide was really good and genuinely nice, providing interesting information and homemade energy bars. Great walk, lovely scenery, great bird spotting (vultures). Great for adults, but also possible to do with kids. Mine loved it.

Beautiful and well - maintained path through very old olive trees with futuristic shapes at the start.
Picturesque scenery with trees growing literally with their roots in the rock and hanging on the walls of the canyon later.
Breathtaking view to the green valley of Amari.
Nice little church in the end, perfect place for relaxation and picnic.
Totally recomended for a daily excursion - hike.

The entrance to the hike is well marked, with a sign showing the route of the hike, but then it ends. No more markings. We followed what we thought was a path anyway, but soon there were fences everywhere that prevented us from going any further. At some point we simply turned around.

Hello, is it possible for an unexperienced person do this without any guide? the finishing point is the same as the starting point?
Thank you

Hey,
not sure if your question is still actual, but yes in my opinion you can do the walk without any guide.
We did the round trip few days ago and especially on the way back we had to keep lookout to find the path ( red points, painted on the rocks), but not to difficult at all.
Just make sure to wear appropriate shoes, we had Sport shoes, which were sufficient, but a bit slippery sometimes.
Hiking shoes might be an advantage.
Yes, start and end point at the same location, so you can leave your car there. Enjoy the hike, it is fantastic.

Здавствуйте. Хочу узнать более точное расположение ущелья, чтобы знать куда именно ехать. Заранее спасибо)
Hello! I just want wondering about the location of this ravine more precisely. Thank you previosly)

Hi Nastya, not too sure if you have already found it's location. It is located on the east side of the Amari valley. Approximately 3 km east of Monastiraki. Hope this helps.
