Spacious beach with a couple of rows of sunbeds, but never too crowded. Sandy, and shallow water close to the shore. Ideal for relaxation and just swimming. The only thing to keep in mine: Check windspeed before going because anything above bf4 may spoil your experience.

Beautiful quieter beach. Spoilt to some extent at the western end by a series of hillside apartments. However, still very quiet and out of the way.

Very clean beach with crystal clear water and a wonderful Damnoni tavern next to it. Vasilis is the right guy to hook you up with a seafront umbrella and chase-beds.

Golden sands, crystal clear water and lots of good tavernas all around. The beach was very clean and quiet, plus you have lots of sun beds to choose from.

A beatiful small beach, but it was unfortunately ruined by a really unpleasant lady that takes care of the sunbeds at the farest piece of the beach. So angry at approach and yells something in greece even if its really clear we are not locals, then after a long while she switches to english. She was so unpleasant that we wanted to leave, but she forces us to pay anyhow. She really must hate tourists.... Pity that she chose the wrong line of work. After that we understand why her piece of the beach was halfempty even if the rest of the beach was full.... We payed and left with a bad feeling, it wasn't so nice anymore after that. So a little advice: Choose the other end of the beach even if it's more crowded, hopefully they are nicer ;)

This is a beautiful large clean beach. On the one side full of classic good Greek tavernas then on the ither side a canteen. Not bad for a visit maybe even more depending on how much time you have.

crystal water, about 50 km from the hotel. You could visit Plakias, Spili, Monastery of Preveli and Damnoni.

We spend 3 hours here when we visited Preveli. It's the place where you can take a boat to go to visit Preveli beach and palms forest.

Gorgeous little beach with clear green sea. Quaint and not over run in a commericial way. Calm sea and beautiful views of the mountains meeting the sea.
If coming from Rethmyon town you need to take the bus to Plakias and tell the conductor you would like to go to Damnoi as the stop is not announced and the beach is set off from the road.It operates on the same time table as Plakias- Rethmyon.

I tried to go to Damoni beach from Rethymno today but had to abandon the trip after the road turned into a dirt track. What is the route to take as my satnav surely cannot be correct?

After the gasoline station which is on a turn you have to turn left in the first crossroad
