The fountain is impressive. That's the most recognisable place in the town and you will find it on each Rethymno postcard but it's worth it. People gather around to meet, take a picture and have a coffee after. The best time to go there is...More

This fountain is in a street in the centre of the old town so is easy to find. All the walking tours stop here so you may have to wait until they pass in order to see it close up.

The Rimondi fountain is a highlight of Rethymnon very near to the Venetian Harbour. The main characteristic is the group of three lions which are in good conditions.

History lovers will enjoy this little gem, however you need to keep your eyes peeled as it's tucked away within the shopping area you can easily miss it.

Although mentioned very often in travel books a certain expectation is created that is causing disappointment when one faces Rimondi. Just a few second to gaze at it suffice. Would not walk around the block for it.

Had read about this fountain before we visited Rethymnon but came across it quite by chance when wandering around the old town. Nice for a quick photo opportunity and a brief stop, not that much to see. Glad it has been preserved.

This site can easily be missed as you walk around, but is worth a quick visit if only to see how it is surrounded by so many buildings.

Built in the 1600's, this was the centre of town and there is a set of three stone basins which provided some of the town's water needs - the water still flows through the stone carved lion heads today. You will definitely walk past this...More

In the center of Rethymno you will find this little Fountain which is providing the town with fresh water for centuries. Built in 1626 by A. Rimondi.
