Visited the olive oil factory via the 'little train' excursion. We were guided around by a member of the family that has owned it for generations. Very interesting to see old and modern techniques, and to sample their olive oil (Also available to buy at discounted prices)

a great insight into one of the things Greece and especially Crete is famous for, a small family run business, very interesting, the tour lasts about half an hour and you have a chance to try and buy some of the local produce, would definitely recommend.

It was definitely worth to visit this farm. The host was very friendly. She took her time to explain about the production of olive oil. It is nice to understand how locals live and also how localproducts are made. We had a nice chat with the host. We definitely recommend to visit this farm if you are in the neighbourhood.... More

American lady showed us around and she was quite amusing. The visit was quite short but if you combine this with a visit to the Melidoni cave it is worth a call

Had a plan to see the caves and the olive oil factory, saw the caves, lovely, amazing with very sad story attached. Left there and came straight to the olive oil factory, where we were greeted by very friendly mother in law of the sons who in a very engaging way described the process from donkey driven to modern mechanised... Serendipity was in play after our visit to the Melidoni Cave on Crete. On a narrow, rural road we passed a sign for an olive oil company with an invitation to visit. As a family of four olive oil lovers we could not resist the invitation and turned up the long drive. At the top of the drive we were... More

We came here on a tour train we caught outside our hotel. The owner gave us a very informative talk about the process of how the olive oil is made...she was very friendly and welcoming. I bought two small tins of olive oil and now wish I had bought more, (too worried about how much my luggage was going to... More

We had a hard time finding this place and took many wrong turns, but finally stumbled upon it. The lady that does the tours is the mother of the owner of the factory. She was a lot of fun and has a great sense of humour!!! She led us through the old ways of doing things and the new ways... More

The tour is great, as you can see how olive oils was produced in the old days and how it is done today. Beyond that it was a pleasure to speak with an owner of this factory!

We saw the sign on the side of the road on our way back from the cave and decided to drop by for a visit! The factory is run by a lovely family and the tour itself was extremely informative! We learned how olives are harvested, collected and processed to get a bottle of oil. The factory had equipment from... More
