Aspassia ‘s City tour of was the highlight of our stay in Rethymon. She is a local, well educated and very approachable. It was obvious that she was passionate about her city and the Cretan culture. We had been to Rethymnon 3 years ago for a few days and we had walked the streets for 2 days before our tour and were generally aware of the city’s history, but this tour added so much value and depth. We went into bakeries, stopped for coffee, whet into a bookshop to see a old fountain that has been part of a mosque. We listened to a musician, we were stopped by some her old friends that wanted to meet us and offered us Raki. Aspassia answered my numerous questions about street art, graffiti and the political climate and economic crisis in Greece. There was a rather large monument in a big square which we had walked by many times. We had no idea what it referred to. She stopped there and explained its significance and how it applied to her family. There was so much more. At the conclusion we ended with a delicious lunch at an outdoor restaurant . It was part of the tour! The best part and there so many good parts was that we left with a new friend.

Our guide, Aspasia was fabulous. A great insight into local history, architecture, food and wine. We were taken through the old town to local coffee houses with homemade sweets and hot sand coffee, food and wine pairing restaurant, watched local icons making Greek sweets and pastries, finishing at a very cool cocktail bar. A must do when in this area.

I had booked other tours with this company before and they do provide the best tour ever! Aspasia, my guide, was friendly, genuine and very knowledgeable. As a small group of four, the morning felt relaxed, personable and enjoyable. The venues food and drinks were all delicious with a great local variety. All in all I had an absolutely perfect tour and I can’t thank enough Anastasia for introducing me to her city and culture.

We did not expect to be the only 2 travellers that signed up for a walking tour of Rethymno but it was such a treat to have the lovely Aspassia as our guide for the entire morning. We started by having coffee and Greek pastry in the old town(sweet cheese one is delicious) where she told us about the long and complicated history of the town. Then we strolled through various parts of the charming town - often poking our heads into whatever shops or nook and cranny that looked interesting. Such a treat to be with a local that is truly interested in sharing her hometown with us. At the end of the walk, we had mezes and drinks under a mulberry tree looking out at the harbour, chatting like old friends. What a day!

I went with 4 friends to Crete and we decided to do a food tour. Kiki was our guide and she was amazing! So knowledgeable and took us to places we would have never found on our own. We went to a traditional bakery, a small shop that makes baklava from scratch, watched traditional Greek coffee being made, and did a wine tasting at a local restaurant. We ended the night at a rooftop bar we would have never found without Kiki. Highly recommend!
