Somewhere around 48,500 WW II German soldiers are interred in this military cemetery, most of whom were killed in a battle that lasted only 10 days or so. What a waste of human life. As we walked between rows of grave markers what struck me...More

I have never visited a German war cemetery before. It was very different from the Commonwealth ones but no less evocative and poignant in respect of all those very young men caught up in the horror of war. Recommended for anyone with an interest in...More

Well worth a visit. Beautifully kept and very thought provoking. It's good to take time out and visit these special places when you visit somewhere new.

If you are in to your war history it is well worth a visit. The views from the top are amazing. However, it is a bit of a walk and its up hill! Take some water and mosquito spray!
