Close to Heraklion, the visit is a very nice proposal specially at noon where you can combine the taste of the wine with various delicious traditional food. Extremely informative tour. A great in site in to the Cretan culture and wine industry. We had an amazing guide who took time to share her passion for the winery and its produce. We sampled no less tha nine excellent wines. Be prepared to spend some time.

One of our goals in visiting Crete was to visit a winery in the rapidly growing wine area just south of Heraklion. We chose this winery because it was the top rated one in TripAdvisor. We did not want a tour, but we wanted to sample wine. Unfortunately, we missed the last tour of the day at 3:00. She was... More

We are from the u.s.a and were intrigued by the wine industry in Crete. This was a tremendous vineyard...very hard to find but so warm, inviting and delicious when we arrived. A true highlight of our visit to the island....

We vistied the winery for the first time in May. Since then for a few more times and we were always leaving with the same impression. A marvelous way to spend a few peace full hours inside the core of continental Crete. The bussines is running under a passionate family spirit and their production carries these values in every level.... More

I read about Cretan wine in the Aegean Airline flight on the way to Crete, and what a wonderful surprise! My last Greek wine experience hadn't been particularly great, but Lyrarakis was a great find. Eva who did the wine tasting for us was exceptionally knowledgeable and a fantastic host. She made our visit really memorable. The wines were so... More

We showed up late but were given a first class wine tasting experience. We started with a short walk through the vineyard, then proceed to a quick tour of the facility, and then the tastings. The winery and location is beautiful; our host was very knowledgeable and friendly making us feel right at home. The wines themselves were very good... More

It was an incredible experience. We traveled from Heraklion to the small village of Algani and then walked to the winery through a beautufyl country road between olive trees and vinyards. The place is beautiful and the facilities amazing. My advice: go to the first tour hour as I did, because the place will be almost empty and it will... More

We booked a wine and cheese tour for 11am on a Wednesday. First, the area. This part of Crete is gorgeous. Very hilly with great views of vineyards, olive groves, and mountains the whole way. The winery wasn't too difficult to locate following the signs posted along the way. We were the only ones there when we arrived which meant... More

This place was on our to-do list while in Crete. It is a family run winery with a huge area being used for the grape farming. Some grape variety is local to the area and some has been brought in from outside of the country. The place is a bit tricky to locate but in the end, you are pampered... More
