We visited Knossos palace a few days ago and our guide Akrivi was amazing!!

She explained in a very informative and interesting way the history of Knossos and the Greek mythology.

She was constantly interacting with the kids so they would have a lot of fun. We also rent a tablet for 3D depiction of the palace and it really worth it.

Overall we had a great time! I strongly recommend weguide for your visit in Knossos.

My partner and I did the “Best of Crete 3 days” private tour with Akrivi and Ioannis. They were wonderful hosts with a lot of knowledge and talent in their crafts. We went in late March which is still off-season, and one of the days was a national holiday, but that didn’t matter because We Guide kept all early closures in mind and arranged the days so we would truly get the Best of Crete.

Each day we were picked up from our hotel in Heraklion. Akrivi stayed with us the whole time providing expert level knowledge for every corner. She also makes sure you are never hungry. So much delicious food, wine, and coffees.

Day 1 = To the East! We took a drive and then a boat ride to the Venetian fortress on Spinalonga. WOW! So neat. Lunch lakeside in Agios Nikolaos. Akrivi made sure we got to taste many many Cretan flavors. Delicious. Then back to Heraklion but not before We Guide gave use tips on where we might like to shop or eat in town.

Day 2 = To the West! To Old Town Chania where we did a walking tour and had a lunch fit for a foodie. On the drive back to Heraklion we stopped and walked around Rethymno.

Day 3 = Heraklion Day! First to the Palace of Knossos. Then to the Archeological Museum of Heraklion where you will see artifacts found at Knossos. Then a food and history walking tour of Heraklion stopping by local treasures. There was a special “hometown” feeling Akrivi gives on this section of the tour.

To be honest, when we were booking this tour we thought it was a bit expensive but after experiencing the high quality and personalized service from We Guide it is definitely worth the price. A very special way to traverse the North side of the island and experience local specialties. It’s no wonder Crete is a popular place and we are so thankful to Akrivi, Ioannis, and We Guide for creating memories with us.

Akrivi was our guide. She showed up promptly and gathered our group of 7 at the pleasant entrance of the park that has a nice cafe. We had purchased combined tickets at the Irakleo Arch. Museum the day before so we were set. Akrivi gave us a clear and intelligent walk with many fine details to help us really understand what we were seeing. We left Knossos and returned to the museum a second time with a better sense of what the Minoans had accomplished.

We have been on several guided tours, but Johanna was the best we have ever had! So much knowledge. She mixed the facts with interesting thoughts about science, religion and philosophy. When we asked questions, she not only answered, but told us more interesting things related to our question.
We highly recommend this tour!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our personal tour of Knossos Palace. Our guide, Passos (spelling?) was extremely congenial, had many entertaining historical tidbits to bring the ruins to life, and helped to explain both the history of the people and the probable life of the area's inhabitants. His English was impeccable, and he paced the tour well to hold our interest and point out the many interesting details we would have missed on our own. We saw the large groups of tourists with other guides, and felt thoroughly pampered as we were the only couple with our guide. We learned a lot -- thank you very much!

The service was very good: if you book in advance you skip the line, and for Knossos that can be very very useful...
Most of all, the guide offered by Fotini was great: detailed and refined, and at the same time cool and passionate. I strongly recommend the tour with her: even if you don't know anything about the Minoan world - but you want to be introduced in that world - you will spend a beautiful interesting and amazing time at this site...Fotini gave me the key to decipher the mistery of the Ancient Palace of Knossos!

If you are coming with young kids and want to do a morning visit - this is essential service. The queue was for at least an hour and we happily skipped it and went in. The process was very well organised and handled well.

We were fortunate to book this tour for 9:00 AM and there were only two of us. The guide introduced us to Greek mythology and history and then showed around. She pointed out important features we would have missed, as there is little signage. She led the tour at a relaxed pace and was open to our questions and observations. She explained that the original archeologist named features based on his cultural assumptions from the time he was working, and what present day archeologists have since discovered.

We went to Knossos at 11am, 12 of August, joining the tour of the palace with an excellent guide, Joanna. She made sure we were all in the shade as a group, a mini private tour of two couples, during a heat wave. We had the opportunity in a 90 minutes tour (in shade wherever possible), to learn from an exceptional informative and pleasant tour guide, A.Evans' theories of Knossos from the 19th century, the approach of the 21st century archaeologists and the speculations of modern time archaeology. She understood that archaeology is a science that is constantly evolving through past, present and future. At the end of the 1,5 hour tour, we had time to testify our questions, given the facts we received about chronology, materials, myths and history. Thank you a lot for this wonderful experience.
