Really nasty jellyfish sting whilst swimming off the boat coming back from Spinalonga. Luckily it caught me and not my 11-year-old. Love the sea and swimming but would have liked to have been warned of this danger.

Very interesting, worth going with a tour guide to hear about the history of the island. The on site bar/ shop is very expensive so worth taking your own food or drink or buying on the boat which is much cheaper

As with Knossos, you’re not encouraged to linger or allowed to drift away from the tour. Shame although I can understand their reasons - people stealing souvenirs! Worth a look. Read the book though: Victoria Hislop - The Island.

We took a tour which took us to this island. The history is amazing, and the story of the leper colony very poignant. A pleasant visit, but only toilets on site.

We traveled from Plaka on a smaller boat, the captain was very friendly and the trip only took 10 minutes. The Venetian fort or what’s left of it is awesome and has some great views from the top. We didn’t join a tour group, which...More

Absolutely amazing. The views were wonderful both on land and by boat. Highly recommend. If you are staying in Elounda it’s really easy to get to the island.

There are many options to visit this island with its varied and interesting history. Just a short 30 min sea trip over a beautiful calm bay. We only had an hour there which was enough for a circular tour but it lacked information. Some of...More

We took a boat from Plaka which is a lovely little village. The trip across cost us €10 each and only takes max 20 mins with the boats coming and going every 30 mins or so (in May). The entrance fee was €16 for two...More

I live in Crete and try to get to Spinalonga at regular intervals of every couple of years. I particularly wanted to go this year 25 May 2019, because of the photographic exhibition I’d seen advertised. I have to admit to being disappointed at that...More

The boot trip and entrance fee are separate. No guide included. We traveled by hire car and explored the island with our family. Alternatively, via local travel agency, you can book a Spinalonga tour with transportation and... More

From memory the boat trip was about 15 euros from Agios Georgios and admission to the island was only a couple of euros, was a few years ago though!
