Absolutely amazing views of Elounda and Spinalonga as the Happy Train winds it’s way up and down the mountain side. Great stops along the way which provide an authentic Crete experience. Great food and service at the family restaurant we stopped at.

We needed to travel from Elounda Village & Spa Hotel to Elounda town and were not sure of the distance and difficulty involved. The Happy Train matched our needs and was an enjoyable and safe cost-effective experience.

Yes, you get off at a small church and walk no more than five minutes in to plakka. There are a few steps down to the church but other than that it is a flat walk. You also get off the train in the mountains to walk down a gravel type track to see a very old monastery/church
